Im looking to do a leather steering wheel so it may be a tad lighter in color vs the factory gauge pod. I have a spare pod and ill put the two up close, really wished i could buy 327 locally, but SEM seems to be more common. probably not as close match..... grrrrrr........

I need to paint a lot of my trim. I'm also interested in the final verdict.

What trim are you looking to paint? i'm looking for a steering wheel paint that wont flake etc...
There is a duplicolor paint that's a good match for trim its DAP 1692
Its a primer, lol, yes but its a perfect match for "trim" on these cars, ill do my switch plates in this.

CV sport and MM have the same OEM paint code KW dark charcoal

There are a lot of threads here on that dap 1692, its a good match for the console and doors.
I know 327 looks great from color bond on a steering wheel, theres pics here recently. Hopefully we can figure it out.
Its probably buick grand national grey
    LOL

    FYI
I just bought DAP 1692 duplicolor primer that mm.ner said was a good match for our gauge pods
It was horrible. 20 shades too lite, I also bought SEM 17013 as most said it was the color, some said 17083 was real close too.

17083 is pretty close for steering wheel color, I must admit that our wheel color is darker than the other greys in our interior

Stay away from the dap 1692 primer to be a match, 10 bucks out the window

Sem paints is very easy to use, but I have tried several colors and haven't had a decent enough match to Dark Charcoal. I tried 17303, 17083, neither didn't look right. I ordered Colorbond 327 and that paint matched much closer. Below is my 2004 Crown Victoria Sport with dark charcoal interior with added chrome interior door handles and a wood grain steering wheel both painted with Colorbond 327. It's close enough for me, especially because I've tried enough other point colors that this is the closest match.

I would love to use colorbond 327. Summit didn't have it listed, didn't want to wait on shipping

    Update on SEM 17013

Did a tan steering wheel to grey, as you can see the grey plastic came out darker and shiny vs the leather

CoreyM75 what did you paint on the door panel? The chrome door pull? It looks too lite. lol. Your wheel looks great, but the pull is way off in color

    So is 17013

The door handles were painted with sem 17303 first then with the Colorbond 327 over it. The door handles were a light tan color and the steering wheel was a darker tan. I think the color differences is due to the original color of the parts.

Bulldog makes a plastic surface prep in a spray can that works great.

I ordered a new front valance with the driving light cutouts for my truck and had to paint it from gray to black. I used the Bulldog prep spray and a good quality can of black spray paint. It still looks great 8 years later and hasn't chipped or peeled.
