Big Bore Teksid Block w/Darton Sleeves

    Sold on ebay

Teksid block, cryo-treated, then fitted with Darton 3.70" big bore wet sleeves. I invested well over $2k in this block. It blew the head gaskets so I went with the cast iron block instead.

I would recommend this block for a race only setup. The block should probably be stabilized with block fill before use. With standard stroke it may be okas is, since there is less side-loading on the cylinders than I experienced with my big bore stroker setup. With standard stroke I believe this would be a 5.0 or 5.1 L.

Can you get pics of the bottom of the sleeves in the block?

Do you suspect the sleeves were shifting as the cause?

I do believe the sleeves were shifting. At least that's the theory I got from Modular Performance.

Yes, the block is coated with thermal dispersant coating.

No, it was Pro-Line. MP built my cast iron block.

    Here ya go.

Y'know there never was a problem with overheating, oil in the water, or water in the oil. And it didn't miss. Compression was down and the leakdown test failed miserably, in some cases it didn't leak from one cylinder to an adjacent one: it leaked to a couple of cylinders down. But the heads turned out to be in terrible shape, the seats & guides were shot. Maybe that was the problem all along?
