Engine Masters Challenge - This years winner. (AGAIN)

has anyone else seen the Spring 2010 Engine masters magazine?

It covered this years Engine Masters Challenge. John Kaase did it again...!
Im a big Ford Cleveland engine fan so this is huge. This is Kaase's 4th win in 8 years. He created a 674HP & 597TQ cleveland that had power all across the RPM range.

He started actually using a 400M block and it ended up being a 403.

He also entered a Boss 429 which took 6th place. it had way more power output than the Cleveland but the do it by power per cube's & the Boss motor was 511ci. but it did put down 856HP & 751TQ.

There was even a Mod motor and a 427 SOHC representing but they did not fair nearly as well as they should have in the competion..

    Kaase is the man!
If I ever blow my current DOHC engine,
I'd be so tempted to drop a BOSS 521 under the hood of my Marauder along with a 6 speed and a big white 'golf ball' shifter!

    How about 770 HP and 730 FT-LBS.....N/A.....

BTW: The BOSS 429 is the same width as our current DOHC (puny cube) engine.

Yep...quite a while ago in fact.
I decided to stop donating when my threads got deleted & locked more often than some 5,000+ posters, who had never contributed to the site.
In a thread, I did 'call them out' about their lots & lots of posts...yet no support to the site
and promptly got scolded by some members for doing so....

I love how he won with a 400M...an engine that even FORD fans consider a boat anchor!

Ya I have a Detomaso pantera that I rebuilt a Cleveland for...
it has an HO block which has a higher nickel content. alows me to go safely 30 over & 61.5CC Boss heads. makes for 10.75:1 ratio give or take. With the same dual carb tunnel ram that kasse is using i expect about 600HP at the upper RPM range...
