LSX swapped Marauder.
Now, I know how sacrilegious this is. I took this in account before I made the decision and came to the conclusion the LSX platform offered more of what I was looking for as opposed to the Ford drivetrains. I also thought about just buying a CTSV or G8GT, but I am hopelessly and disgustingly in love with my Marauder. So, onto the build:
The build started in early April. I chose to use an LQ9 6.0 engine out of a 2002 Cadillac Escalade and a 4L80E transmission out of a 2001 work truck. I decided before I modified to fit my needs, I would complete the build (with the help of Warrior Diesel in Rogersville Missouri) in stock form and run out my 10k warranty on the engine/trans. The build started due to the motor constantly wanting to overheat which caused the engine to run only with the fuel pump turned off after being pressurized.
Eventually this was fixed, but I was already in the mood for a swap of some sort and realized it was time to get out of the four cam world if I wanted to stay NA and have gobs of torque.
Thus came this
The motor was easily mounted using Mustang Fox to LSX swap mounts and flipping the factory trans mount (modified of course). The Factory MMX driveshaft worked perfectly with a new yoke on it for the GM trans, custom AC lines and power steering were fabricated and headers for an LSX into 2nd gen camaro were utilized with a little BFH clearancing. Thus came this stage:
And the running video

Currently I have an LSXRT 90mm intake, LS3 injectors, Racetronix Fuel Pump, EPS 228/230 .598/.600 113+4 cam, Texas Speed LS6 ported heads, Jo-Bilt 3800 converter and misc safety/longevity(boring) stuff waiting to go on. I am being held up by factory gauge wiring and might have to run a RacePak digital dash, but whatever. The car does run, drive and it does so amazingly. There are so many custom parts that went into this build to make a lot of this possible I dont even know where to start...maybe ill get the shop that helped fab/build this project chime in on the custom fab/share pictures.
I will update Monday when i get back on it.
EDIT: When I figure out how to fit it under the hood (hood clearance with the truck intake is BARELY there) I will be putting on a cover with a Mercury Waterfall badge inset. This is the only place ill admit its a GM engine under there...
