How to go about tuning my Marauder.

I already have a SCT Xcal 3 with a tune from Blue Oval Chips for my CVLX. But I would like to get a tune for my Marauder and pair the tuner to it instead.

How do I go about unlocking the device so I can get a new tune for it and pair it to a different vehicle?

Which tune is the best for a stock Marauder? I have heard of this Lidio tune but also heard some bad things about it.

Any input would be great.

Thanks

You'll need to return the CVLX to stock tune to unlock the tuner from that car.

Then you can either send your tuner out to have it loaded with a tune and returned to you, or you have cables, can purchase a tune, have it e-mailed to you from a shop and then you can upload it into your tuner from your computer.

Bad things about Lidio tunes???

Both Mo's Speed Shop and Lidio have supplied tunes for a bunch of folks and I don't recall hearing complaints, but maybe someone out there isn't happy with theirs...

Who did you hear that from?

Both Lidio & Marty have great tunes for the Marauder. The best is to get it dyno tuned.

I appreciate all the advice. I don't mean to slander lidio tunes by any means.

Ok, so what advantages would I gain from having it dynoed over just a stock tune?

I really want to leave my Marauder stock more or less. But I would not mind doing some bolt-ons if it would be worth it for the gains. Which bolt-ons go good with a tune on this 4v?

I am used to working with a little heavier modifications on my 5.4 Crown Victoria and having tunes done to it along with tranny mods, rear gears and the likes, so stock tunes are a little new to me.

If you're going to stay pretty much stock, a canned tune will suffice. I'd suggest complementing that with 4.10 gears and a J-mod on the trans, will really wake the car up and improve shift performance.

I have considered 4.10s but I think I am going to leave this 4r75 stock for now, I have Jmodded 2 4r70ws for my CVLX and I although I love the firm shifts and squealing into 2nd my Marauder is going to be my dd and I want to have it comfy.

4.10's with a tune will give you a nice bang for the buck, you would not be sorry. Since each car is a little different having the tune done on the dyno gives it that extra tweak for your specific car.

Nelson, do you know what the paramets or the tune file are that are in the xcal2 you have? Do you know if they are for your car?
