Well folks, the planning for MVIII is well under way, and we are pleased to pass on nothing but good news! We have been working hard on securing a prime location for parking, and I am happy to say we have outdone ourselves over last years location.

Last year, as many of your know, we had our first attempt at hosting a special Marauder only section at the Woodward Dream Cruise, and succeeded in being recognized as the single largest display of any one type of car anywhere on Woodward. That is quite an accomplishment considering the scale of the event. Last year we paid $200 each to park our cars in the hottest section of the WDC, for one day only. This year we have not only improved our location, but the amount of time that we will have access to that parking, as well as a spot with more in the way of amenities available to members than last year.

This year we have secured the entire parking lot of a Burger King on Woodward north of 13 Mile, directly across the street from the World Famous Duggan’s Pub, the originators of the Woodward Dream Cruise a decade ago. Folks, this is the absolute epicenter of activities on Woodward and is the highest sought after parking just about anywhere along the route. The great thing is, Buger King donates the profits from this to local charities! While we paid $200 a spot last year, many people paid in excess of $200, upwards up to $300 a spot. We have already had offers from other car clubs and corporate sponsors to let them have our location for a good price.

We have worked it out such that the Burger King will provide us with a meeting or rally point Thursday night, then exclusive use Friday afternoon and evening, and all day Saturday for the Cruise. It is our intention to schedule a Parade of Marauders on Woodward Thursday evening when it is still possible to manage a large group of cars. Thursday night will still be packed so be prepared! We could possibly put out 50 Marauders as a parade on Woodward that night.

What we are trying to do is bring all this to you for much less than the $200+ that this would normally cost. To make this happen it is our intention to raffle off a Powdercoated Trilogy Supercharger Kit to offset the great cost of this event. If we reach our goal with the raffle and other sources of revenue, we will be able to provide the BEST value than the other Maraudervilles, at the same price, if not lower. It is our commitment to provide the parking to MVIII attendees for a fraction of what we paid just last year, and provide more value and amenities as a bonus. Our target is to be able to provide the parking to members for $50-$75. You spent more to join the IMOA, then register for Indy for a single lap at IMS. Compared to the IMOA portion of MVII, which cost me $93.75 plus $35 membership in IMOA, a simple $75 for 3 days of parking at the largest car event in the WORLD is way more than a bargain! It is unheard of on Woodward. They pay $35-50 to park 3 blocks off of Woodward in fields and lots and walk up to see the sights.

This is a great way to support MVIII even if you can’t make it in person. The best thing will be the awesome odds in winning a Trilogy Supercharger kit! It will be a 1 in 150 chance! For all involved it’s a great chance to get involved and help MVIII, charities, and get a great chance to win a blower!

*The raffle will begin Wednesday, March 30, 2005.
*The prize is a Powdercoated Trilogy Supercharger Kit, no substitutions allowed.
*The price will be $100 per ticket.
*The raffle will run until the tickets are sold, or May 15, 2005.
*The number of tickets will be strictly limited to 150 tickets.
*The winner is responsible for shipping costs and installation.
*The drawing will be video taped and hosted on the MCM website for interested parties.
*The winning ticket will be drawn by Jerry Barnes. If possible, Steve Babcock will also be present to personally autograph the Trilogy Installation Book along with Jerry Barnes.
*If the tickets sell out by April 16, 2005, the drawing will be held at the annual Motor City Marauder Dyno Day event at Alternative Auto. If the Raffle runs untill May 15, 2005, the drawing will be held at the offices of Trilogy Motorsports.

    Ticket selling briskly!

Just a quick note on Ticket sales. It has been less than 48 hours since the Raffle was begun, and I am proud to report that we have sold just about 25% of the tickets! This is just those purchased by paypal, and doesnt include those purchased by check or money order. At this pace we could be sold out in just over a week!
Don't wait....Don't miss out on this raffle...Grab your ticket before they are gone. There is plenty of time to get your Trilogy blower installed and up here for the Dream Cruise!!

I don't think that's how it works, since each ticket has it's own 1:150 chance... Either way, I've bought my ticket, and now have my fingers crossed
