When the radio is on hold down the on/off button for about 5-6 seconds the display will show speed volume followed by a number that you can change between 1 and 7 with the select control. The greater the number the more of a change in volume between slow and fast.

The radio in my MM had the speed-adjusted volume option set to 0. I suspect the previous owner didn't know about it.
I set mine to 5, and found it didn't get loud enough. 7 (the max) was a bit too loud, and the adjustment too noticeable. 6 is just right.
The first volume increase occurs at 60 km/h. I can't tell for sure if it increases again after that (but I think it does).
