Car: 2004 Mercury Marauder / 100% Stock

After opening up the box the first thing you should do is read the manual that comes with it. Re-programming your engine's computer should be done with caution, understanding the risks, and understanding how to avoid potential problems.

The Diablosport is very easy to use, large green blacklit screen makes it easy to see day or night. Easy navigation and the on screen instructions guide you through everything you need to do. The first install takes about ten minutes, extra time is required to download your factory tune and vehicle information so it can be "Locked" to your car. Each time after that it will take about five minutes to change or modify the tune.

It only comes with one tune installed, "Diablotune." Diablotune is the same tune that Diablosport uses on the Mustang yielding great results, it has just been modified to work with our Marauder. After installing "Diablotune" on my car and waiting about two weeks for the snow to melt and the roads to dry up these are my thoughts:

Off The Line: You can finally spin the rear tires and take off like you gained all this RWHP. Before I installed this tune I could hardly chirp them.

From 25-30MPH: Flooring it from 25/30MPH is probably the biggest difference. From that speed, flooring it, you down shift and the torque throws your head against the head rest and just as you start to lift it back up, the 1/2 shift throws your head back.

Shifting: All gears at part throttle now shift like they should have from the factory. Firm. At WOT 1-2 will throw your head back and break the tires loose. Every 1-2 WOT gets my traction contol light blinking in panic. 2-3 at WOT will push you farther into the seat, and 3-4 is firm. Very impressed with the shifting. Like I said, this is how it should have been. The Diablotune now raises your shift points to 6k.

Power: Just as they advertised, power increase throughout the whole RPM range. Very noticable, and leaves you questioning why you did not spend this money earlier.

These are the modifiable parameters:

- Dual timing adjustment points (2000-4000 RPM / 4000-7000 RPM)
- Timing table ( 10% / -40%)
- Dual fuel adjustment points (2000-4000 RPM / 4000-7000 RPM)
- Fuel table ( 40% / -15%)
- Idle ( /- 20%)
- On/Off switch for Traction Control
- Raise Speed Limiter
- Rev Limiter
- Re-Calibrate Speedometer for Gear and Tire Size Changes
- WOT Shift Pressure
- Part throttle shift firmness
- RPM Shift Points
- Torque Modulation (for better shift feel)
- Cooling Fan ON/OFF Temperatures
- Rear Oxygen sensor disable (use for off-road vehicles only)
- Disable EGR (use for off-road vehicles only)

Of course, do not tweak them if you don't know what you are doing.

Overall: Very impressed. Gets a 10/10, completely transformed my WOT experience.

Pros: 30 minutes of data logging, superior tune than SCT files I have used
Cons: none so far

purchased from www.concoursdirect.com. Email Brian Vega for a coupon code price match. Diablo tuning is fantastic! The tune provided for Diablo on my Procharger kit is the best running tune I have had yet, after many SCT tune. The shift points and TQ converter lockup schedule is perfect. Diablo is 2 years ahead of SCT in hardware technology, hence the predator has been out for 2 years. You can modify parameters yourself or get new tunes emailed to you. Diablo is much more established and has tons more dealers for custom tuning. Vendors on this site have pushed SCT since the beginning for financial reason, but Diablosport is the better company. Do not come up short and purchase anything other than the Predator tuner!

Pros: Easy to use, great way to transfer tunes
Cons: cannot make gear changes (they're working on it)

I purchased mine in September and had no noticeable results with the DS tune installed and could not cal my speedo for the gear change. After 4 months of back and forth I finally recieved a Scott Beer tune that had the gears change in it.
The car came alive!
My opinion? It is a great machine, easy to use and has a lot of owner tweeks available, data logging, error codes, etc. Worth the price for those features alone.

To me the real value is in having the ability to purchase custom tunes and store them on your PC. You can then transfer them and install them as necessary.

DS is working on a change to make the gear changes possible for the Marauder tune.
