View Full Version : Why is it so difficult to post pics on here?

I am fairly good with my computer skills, but it has become impossible for me to post photos on here. Did something change a year ago, or so?
I have pics of replacing my MM fuel tank sender, and some tricks I came up with to do it. I tried many times over the past year to post them.
I used to have a difficult way/work-around of posting my pics, but I gave up trying to make it work months ago.

Are you using a service like ImageShack (not free), Photobucket or Imgur?
And there are free services for your use (Google is your friend).

I try to post directly from my hard drive photos, and also from my Photobucket account. Neither works on here anymore.
I have a google account -- I just tried to view a google account video linked on here in another thread, and the screen was mostly blank, but showed it as a google account video (it wouldn't play)

Nothing had changed. How do you add pictures?
If you are uploading to your Photo Gallery or attaching in posts, you might have run out of space. The bigger the resolution of the pic, the more room it takes up and the less photos you can post.
Or, are you using PhotoBucket and linking your photos? Using an online photo service and linking doesn't limit you.

What is the file extension for the Google video? If it is proprietary, the mm.net website may not recognise it if it's not on the list of file extensions.

Other members viewed the video, and commented on it.
I can't even figure out how to delete old pics in my gallery!
As good as this web-site is, it really sucks for posting photos!
Not user friendly - at all.

I agree we're a bit antiquated and have been a bit resistant to update the forum because it would mean EVERYTHING changes. We've gone as far as we can with this version of vBulletin. At some point we'll be forced to make the changes because more and more of the current version will no longer be supported. Some features are very cumbersome, I agree.

Thank you very much - it's a relief to know it isn't just because of me!
At least I figured out how to delete my pics

It took me years to give in and buy a cell phone - I am on my 2nd Tracfone now. I paid around $10 or $15 for it last July. I was in Walmark recently, and my same model "LG" flip-phone is now $4.85.
It usually costs me less than $10 a month, buying my minutes at ~8 cents each. Being thrifty allows me to afford 93 octane!!! ;)

I use photobucket. No problems at all, just copy the link and paste it in the reply section, easy enough that a simpleton like me can figure it out.

It took longer to find this picture in photobucket, then it did to post it.

You must lower that flag pole, when you drive around? Is there a socket in your roof, or is it hinged? ;)

==I was wondering if the roof was reinforced.

It's hinged, I went for the deluxe flag pole package. Spared no expense.

I still run a Supermotors account which is like any other photo hosting site but car related, it's pretty ancient but works for me!
