Only problem is the 6" of fresh snow so I can't take it for a good trial run,I ended up going with a 3000 stall and am hoping for a little more life out of the hole.

I did some research and seemed to be a good converter for the buck, some on this site have had good results also.

Unreal, tonight driving home from work, my car hit 3rd gear, in my CV Sport with no stall convertor, wished it had one, and I wondered if that guy (you) ever went with a Roadrunner stall.
Ask Marty - he was surprised how well mine worked and tuned - just like it cost a grand. At nearly 10k spirited street miles now, still pink fluid, no extra cooler added on. Works flawlessly.
It can't have life expectency of a higher quality / priced unit, but in low power street use - hopefully yours works out as well as mine.
I figure at this cost, I could swap in another right now and still be at less money than the big power units ;) Provided no failure takes the trans out too...nahh!

Yes I believe it was your success with one that made my mind up on a purchase,it all seems smooth so far but the shift seems to have softened up a bit which I'm sure Marty can deal with but i do want to put more seat time with it before I get any tweaks done..

I believe I mentioned softer shifts as a result from high stall convertors.
You will learn to appreciate that.
If the shifts did not feel softer, the convertor would have been too tight for what you asked for.
At WOT, the upshifts will be just as quick, and almost as harsh, as a stock convertor = full torque applied to couple the convertor.
At lower power/speeds/less throttle, the shifts will be as quick, but not jerk the car like a stock convertor.
Saving wear on the car? This helps!
Ask any good trans guy or race car driver. You want fast shifts, not dash board rattling ones. A nice, fast, minimal rpm drop shift moves the car - bang during shift feels cool, but is not any faster than a softer, equally fast shift.
It's nice to drive part throttle around town, from stop lights - and the car just slides through gears. Not 'racing' around.
But when you mash and WOT - it will put a big smile on your face.
Seat time - good idea.
