Attached to the radiator hose, located near the P/S pump. Just a few FYI's......

The thermostat is specific to the Ford DOHC

There is a right way and a wrong way to install it

You'll need to burp the cooling system everytime you open it.

From under the car once drained is how I do it, but I have a lift.

You could just remove all three clamps and pull the housing from the top to replace the stat.

I need a thermostat because im pretty sure its stuck closed the engine warms up to 3/4 on the meter withing 8 mins of running and the top radiator hoses stays cold so it must not be getting coolant cirrculated

I'm all for self maintenance..its ok to do it yourself, just that these motors and tstats have a couple extra procedures involved..the burping and not putting the tstat in the wrong way. So research it and you should be fine

It could be air in the system
If you have to ask where the thermostat is, I suggest taking it to a qualified mechanic

Good info right there ^^^^^^^^^^

The way to not get "scammed" is to get referrals from other people, car clubs, websites, etc. It also pays to establish a relationship with a shop / mechanic.

I would burp the system first like others have said! Google the burping procedure.

Most shops don't scam. They have hourly rates based off book time to keep their lights on.

The bad shops out there give a bad rap to the whole industry.
