Rondonaldson has bought my Marauder, he is either going to ship it or drive it back to FLA.

My wife says not to sell it, my kids are telling not to sell it and the little voice in my head says not to sell it.
I love this car.

I have a 3 car garage that houses my 68 Pro Street Camaro (owned for 39 years) my 1987 Buick Turbo T-type (I ordered new from the factory) and my soon to be delivered 2016 Corvette Stingray.
The Marauder would have to stay outside in the 110-115 heat of summer and it doesn't deserve it.
I could leave it in my business but then it would have to be started everyday to pull out and put back in every night.
I was driving it an average of about 75 miles a year.

I think selling it is the right thing to do.

I would have just bought a bigger garage. I am lucky to have room for about 10-11 garaged

+1 on the bigger garage. However, Turbo Regal > Marauder if I had to be in your situation.

I hope so Zack, I literally was up most of the night second guessing my decision.
I thought about returning his deposit and refunding his airfare for him and his wife's flight out here Tuesday.

If my new Corvette would just show up already I might feel a bit more comfortable with my decision.

No love for the Camaro?

I'll have to talk T-Type with, the car is bone stock except chip and drag radials. It went 12.98 in NJ years ago.
I plan on installing a Water/Meth kit-2400 stall speed converter-I got a adjustable boost kit and plan on about 20psi. What fuel pump and injectors do you recommend?

Black Mercury Marauder was the 'black sheep' in your white GM collection....LOL

BTW:
Love the T-Type!
Get a bigger motor for the Camaro....j/k

Paint the Marauder white and keep it.
1 of 1

You'll fondly remember the MM, but not need it. Not with that fleet.

Didn't even mention the Camaro because I am sure it stays no matter what. :)

Turbo Buick priority #1 is the fuel system. Install Walboro 340 fuel pump, hotwire kit, adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Run the Meth kit preferably from Alky Control. Get a new adjustable chip from Eric at TurboTweak. Turn up the boost and forget the stall converter it is not needed until you go to a big turbo. If you change injectors just go to 60's no point in doing anything in between. Don't forget a Scanmaster 2 to monitor the computer.

This recipe is good for solid high 11's all day long with a good 60 ft at the racetrack if not faster. Several friends have gone 11.50 to 11.70 on the stock turbo.

I've owned like over 15+ 87 turbo regals and 3 89 TTAs

If you do the fuel pump and Hotwire kit, your static fuel pressure should be around 44, there will be no need for a adjustable fpr. Running turbo tweaks chip you never adjust fuel pressure

Get high z 60 injectors, a tweak chip set for meth, and alky control

Stock turbo loves 22 psi and 25 or more degrees of timing , 23 degrees in third gear. On my white limited I ran 009 42.5 lb injectors, meth and stock turbo ran 11.7 114mph. The car had stock D5 converter, ran 11s hundreds of times

If you go with a larger turbo later in life, you can use the same chip and just add fuel in all gears with the chip

Use a ball and spring type boost controller, it'll bring your boost in sooner, actually a lot sooner

When you get gofastitis on the Buick, call me and I'll get it lined out

Congrats on the vette, pretty damn sweet

Thanks Buick boys, I knew I would get the straight scoop. So your both in agreement to leave stock Torque Converter alone?

Yes. My dad has a WE4 with the stock D5 converter with a ta49 and it'll boil the tires

I was running 1.50 60 foots with the stock converter in my buicks and 1.57 in the Tta #340. I owned TTA # 14. It was a festival car with 8k.

If you get the right chip, boost controller and timing up, the converter is not the issue building boost or 60 footing
2400 won't be a improvement, my daily had a 3500 lockup, man it drove awesome! Instant boost

Sounds like your not going to race it much, just do small upgrades and it'll last forever

Turbov6Bryan is the man that "ruined" my life with turbo Regal's. Listen to what he says. My GN went pretty darn fast on minimal mods with his help at the racetrack. PM us when you start modding. Enjoy the Vette they are beautiful.

Should we post pictures of our cars as means to comfort you? :D

In all seriousness, I will try to hold onto mine forever, but there are better cars to be had out there. And life is too short not to drive as many other cars as you can. Good luck.

Hi Mike, I have F.I.T #5 on my Marauder and an 87 GN which I acquired in 88. I agree with what most of what 8UWITH6 said, I'd be going with a new turbo and converter as well.

Go with 60# injectors, contact either Eric at turbo tweak or Cal Hartline at Hartline performance for either a turbo tweak or a extender chip for the 60 # injectors. Julio at Razor makes the best alky kit and controller out there, I have it on my car.

Definitely upgrade the wiring to the fuel pump with a hot wire kit. As for a converter, I'd say a 2800 - 3000 stall unit from Dusty Bradford at PTC or contact Dave Husek for one of his 10 inch lock up units.

I'd consider a turbo as well, I have a te60-1 which I had rebuilt as a dual ball bearing unit using a Garrett Centre section. The car is a high ten second animal (on a conservative tune) which I enjoy driving a lot, it's very well suited for the street and drives much better than a stock GN. I like the theme of white cars you have going.

Enjoy the new vette, you will no doubt miss the Marauder. All the best to you.

Jim.

Hey Mike, I remember the time you took me and my buddies for a test ride in that Marauder many years ago. Those "old guys" still talk about it. Hope to see you at Barrett Jackson in January.
