I'm finally getting a paint job, but have a 10% chance of it not being black.
Can you guys post some non factory colored Marauders?
I was digging the gun metal silver someone had. I might go green, orange, purple, I dunno.
What has everyone done?

Are the door jambs, under hood, ect all being painted also? If not keep it black.

If it's for free go for it. Never hurts to save some $ for that rainy(broken car, truck)day.

Problem with any bright color is you will be instantly mistaken for a taxi. yellow, orange, green, purple, even red.
Darker colors are key. Metallic is usually important. Personally I would love to see a metallic dark forest green, but the gun metal grey that has been done on a few cars looks top notch.

Charcoal grey. There was a Marauder recently for sale that was dark charcoal grey (mustang color). It was beautiful. Two fat black stripes... Eleanor!
Or the blue listed above +3

If you like dark green, go find a new stingray vette. That green is unbelievable
Catch it on a sunny day and you might just fall in love
Second favorite is jetstream blue, nice metallic and flows well with chrome!

Please dont paint it blue. Dark green would be cool, with dark gray marauder letters.

In that case, ford makes a nice black pearl, paint the outside, leave the jambs alone. You've just changed colors, without all the mess.

I had that color on my wife's Explorer Sport, it was the #1 reason I got rid of it the first chance I got. You can make black look beautiful, that tuxedo black always looked muddy, cloudy, dirty. And yes, I know how to detail a car.

Everyone remember, UA is the solid black, also known as Ebony black, UH is the metallic black, also known as Tuxedo black. The Muddy black that we all talk about, is the solid black, because of the other toners in the formula besides the black.

I learned that many years ago when I painted cars at a Ford store.

There's a guy in one of the Marauder related facebook groups who has a light blue Marauder which looks interesting but I don't think he's a member here.

How about two colors? If the top black is in fair shape just do the lower in gray or silver. May save a few bucks.

I'm going to the paint shop today to see what I need to do to prep. I am already planning on sanding my roof, removing headlights, tail lights, side lights, sanding the rear bumper cover, knocking out the rear bumper cover from the side swipe two years ago...
I need to see if I need to tape off the badges too. I wanted to tow it, but looks like I will need to trailer it after proper prep. This will save about $1,500.

Bumpers need to be removed, to achieve complete and even coverage. Also remove any and all emblems, masking equals negative results.

If you go green Dark Tourmaline gets my vote.

Yes, that's exactly right. Removing the bumpers and emblems will make for a much better end result.

I love my two tone car. If Marauders stayed in production, it would hve been an awesome option :)
As long as it's done tastefully, which is subjective.

Go with Tuxedo black metallic if you are doing a basic repaint.

I took my car to a professional paint and body shop and was informed my car has been repainted?? i never would have known that. It was reshot in metallic black. I thought it was factory oops. reason for going was to get an estimate because i want an aftermarket hood and have the front bumper repainted as well. The quote for that was $800 included blending in the fenders and taking front bumper off to paint it. He gave me a quote of $4800 to do the whole car. But he takes everything off. Door handles all the trimming and bumpers etc etc...My overall paint on the car is in good shape, just has a lot of imperfections. Not sure which route im going to go.

I will be repainting my entire car in the future. Aggravates me how cheap the paint was from the factory.

How cheapass* ford was with the paint.. Seems they caught up to all other manufacturers in this century with regards to paint quality now.

Tuxedo black would be nice. A buddy of mine had a 2012 F150 in that color and it was probably the best black I've ever seen on a car before.. When it was clean that is haha you know how black cars are

If you change color you need to do the jams, under the hood, trunk. True you don't ride around with the doors open and your not into showing you car but every time you open the door, trunk, hood you be reminded of your short cut.
