Well I am at the point. We're I have done to my Mercury Marauder as of Bolt on 's maxed out. I did Kooks long tube Kooks X-pipe with high flow cats and Borla Pro-XS mufflers. Put in a Accufab throttle body part number 9901. It is for the Mach 1 Mustang. Work awesome and I have a JLT Cold air kit. It is Gulping hard now when you hit the throttle. So now I can get a set of STEEDA under drive pulley. But not sure what they will give me power wise. So now I am thinking of putting a NX Wet Fogger kit shooting 150 HP and a NX purge kit. I will get a Vortech Supercharger soon. But I am very tempted. To shoot it with some juice. Being I am a Nitrous Junky. So I ask you guys how well Mod motor like the smack. This being my first Mod motor that I own. Simple enough and humbled I ask you all. Hey I put a picture of my motor. For I am humbled and super happy. With how she looks. And it is running. She has 10k in original miles. Also I got my SCT tuner back from Mr. Martyo. I just haven't got to plug it in. Being it is raining hard here in NYC. So I have her tucked away. Maybe tomorrow if it is good. I will take her out and plug in the tune.

Mod motors respond well to spray, especially the torque.
Some have faired well on the juice, others not.
Your mileage is a plus but the rods and the ring lands are our Achilles heal.
Underdrive puppies yield miniscule gains, that being said , I've had them on both Panthers I drive.

Thanks Bradley G I know our 4.6 4v have weak rods. Couple of guys told me the Rods are fragile. And if and when I Supercharger her. Not to go over 450 HP. Or I am asking for trouble. Thanks for your input. Because out of so many looking at this tread. You gave a a opinion. Thanks again.

Limit yourself to a 100 shot.

Limit yourself to a 100 shot.

And change the damn gear in your car!

What Marty said ^^^^^^^.

I've run a 100 shot (wet) and that put the car into the low 13's. Previously, With just gears, stall converter and tune I was in the low 14's

Now I have a Centrifugal Vortex S/C with 10 lbs boost and a 50 shot ZEX (wet) for cooling and things work great, no time slips but SOP tells me it's faster.

The 3500 stall converter and 4:10 rear gear really launch the car.

With Marty's/Jeff's tune the MM is putting 430 RWHP to the ground, without the nitrous.

I use the nitrous sparingly to bring the IAT down to below 150 degrees since I don't use an after cooler, (budget limitations at the time of S/C purchase, '07).

My car is street only and It's a lot of fun.

An observation: the performance of either the 100 shot, or the S/C was very close. But the S/C has so much more versatility, reliability and convenience.

Enjoy.

4.10 gears and a 50 shot would be the safest way to go.

If you're going to put a blower on it later it's a total waste of time, effort, and money to put underdrive pulleys on it. The stock size pulley will have to be re-installed when the blower goes on.

I tried a high stall converter (2800) and it was good on the strip but I hated it on the street. I went to a triple plate 1800 and am happy with it.

Martyo hey I got the tuner late last night. They left it on the door of my mom's house. Luckily no one took it. It was raining last night I NYC. Hopefully I can do my thing today. I run Nitrous all the time. I know how to play with it real good. But I wanted to know how much it can take. And be safe. 50 to a 100 and I will be good. Thanks alot Martyo and fellas. I really appreciate it. And yea Marty 4.10 are on the way. Lol

Don't over do it with a converter that is on a car with spray. Nitrous likes a tighter converter.

You should get the EMP Stewart Water Pump.It works great with the under drive pulleys & JLT as it frees up a few more HP.

Says the guy who hasn't looked out back of his house and noticed that 12 car garage loaded with old (and new) muscle cars, who also "happens" to own a speed shop. :D

Nitrous is damn fun. I blew up fewer things on the bottle than I've done with boost over the years. A 100 is more than enough for a non-built up engine with stock hyper pistons/rods.

Would you need to change anything on your tune for a 100 shot

Thanks

I ran a 100 wet shot in my marauder for years. Best 1/4 of 12.4@108mph. I had a couple bolt ons and the shot and I can't remember what the numbers were but it was close to 400hp and 500ft lb. and the good thing is now that I have a turbo on mine I can still spray it to get the iat down like pat does. If you have the kit already do it. Just make sure you have a good tuner cou(mo's)gh.

Yes. You will want a nitrous tune.

Yes. You will want a nitrous tune.

One good reason for a chip. Just turn a switch to change tunes instead of having to download to the PCM.

The new Xcals load pretty quickly. Also you cannot remote or email a tune to a chip.

For these reasons, I much prefer them to a chip.
