Howdy and belated Merry Christmas to all...

I haven't posted here in well over a year and it just popped into my head to check in and see what's happening in the Marauder world.

Due to high mileage (140,000) and numerous small problems with my 2003 Silver Birch Marauder, I parked it in my driveway and bought a newer, more reliable car for commuting the 500-600 mile drive to work every two weeks...

That was December, 2013 and the car still sits in the driveway. I removed the headlights and grille in order to polish out the haze, so I can see at night. I replaced the battery and drove the car a couple of times last year, but the engine will no longer start when I attempt to bring it back to life... :bigcry:

I work almost 900 miles from home now, so I rarely get to see or work on the car. It sits, slowly decaying in the driveway... If I could get the engine started, I could put the headlights back on and drive it somewhere where I can slowly restore it back to its former working condition.

If I can figure out a way to be in the same state as my car for more than a day or two at a time, I could begin restoring the car. Until then, it sits. :violin:

I have had a lot of fun with my Marauder and with hanging out with Marauder people. Someday soon, I;ll be able to do it again.

Sorry if this post is such a bummer. It can only get better. I don't plan to sell the car and it will still be there when I can eventually get the time and money to bring it back.

I'll check in every now and then to see if any of the original folks are still around and relive the good ol' days!

See ya,

Kevin

Welcome back, you prolly have bad gas in it. Today's gas has terrible sit life without a fuel stabilizer . It gets stuff gummy so throttle may need cleaning, plugs replaced and new fuel filter

^^^^ Probably right on the bad gas. My generator needs its carb to be tore apart and cleaned out because of the same thing. Get all the old fuel out and replace with ethanol free gas along with new fuel filter. Plugs may not need replaced, but they could probably use a good cleaning at the very least. Run it dry if you're going to store it long term. A good stabilizer (not Sta-bil) is a sharp investment. https://www.batterystuff.com/fuel-treatments/PRIG32oz.html

Hi Ho Kevin,

Cruiser is still Maraudering and so am I. My second son looks after the car. It also sits in the drive way but I do drive it once or twice a week. If not, then Junior Birdman will see to it. Check out today's "what did you do to your car" thread.

Cheers,

Pat
