hey all I know this is not my marauder but since it's a panther I figured the info would be beneficial to some of you with a faded carpet that for whatever reason canott replace it right away but don't mind elbow grease. My 1995 Victoria is my daily and pretty clean as I painted and fixed it up a little over four years ago, but the carpet would never come clean in the car no matter what I tried and used. Just made it worse. Didn't mind buying a new one but it's an oddball color which is not easily bought online without having color samples sent. I decided to try fabric dye and was happy with the results but not sure how it will Holdup over time. there is a company called detail king that does sell liquid carpet dyes for auto carpets but not in the color I required so I said screw it and took a chance. Removed it, used an extractor and powerwashed it before mixing teal and black dyes together to get the color to my liking. all in all very happy with it for a low Buck fix.http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/01/03/7367d753689a01e2c0eb2bad7401f5 86.jpg nasty

Cool thread!
Looks great, both the carpet job and the car overall.
I do prefer the looks of the aero nose which is why I keep my 92 around as it is a much cleaner look than the tacked on chrome on the 93-97 cars.

The header , hood and front bumper came off of my 92 as this car was hit in the front when I bought it. I too think this header looks sleeker and wanted the hood ornament to give it a little bit of grandpa pimp bling along with the other add ons when I did the bodywork and paint. I used to want a marauder powertrain in this car to make it the ultimate sleeper but then was lucky enough to buy a complete marauder instead.http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/01/03/421cf15d03e1d99ea4138cb32b578a 03.jpgThis car in 2011 while I was fixing it up.http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/01/03/3b95d5a6531e50de2d3c15381d712b 8a.jpgThe 92 that donated it's parts. applied dye next in a spray bottle with hot water and brushed in with a small scrub brush as I sprayed it. Made several passes till I was happy.

So did you buy the dye at detail King?
I need black for a spot or two on my GN, it has a sun fade spot
Yours turned out very nice!

Or they can be purchased at just about any craft store.

Bryan I bought the dye at a craft store. it's not really for synthetic fabric so I have no idea how it's going to hold up over time. But for $1.49 Per package I was willing to test it out. the detail king liquid dye is 12.99 Per bottle and if they had it in the color I needed I would have definitely bought that instead. After checking the website the other day I feel like it would be perfect for your Gn to freshen up your black carpet. They claim it is of the same quality that the OEM originally dyed their fabrics and carpets with and will hold up.

Thanks for the heads up
I'll add it to the to do list before spring
My only concern is if the dye could rub off in the future, but I'd rather keep the original carpet and see how it holds up :)

Bryan I'm with you on the oem carpets. Not much out there matches the quality. I think it will hold up fine especially if it's a light use vehicle. I would rather try to save the original Before replacing as well. If you were in my neck of the woods I would gladly give you a hand.

I have always preferred the liquid dyes vs the areasol can types. Many many years ago when I first started detailing in 1987 ish I used a product that was a liquid dye in a pint container, you would hook up an air supply to a nozzle that also had a "t" coming off of the bottom of the nozzle with a tube that would go down into the dye, the air blowing through would create a suction drawing the dye up and out the nozzle. because it was liquid it saturated and did a much better job than an aresol that I find usually sits on top of the carpet pile as it dries and hardens
