when i went to get my kenwood radio installed the place had LED headlights. Looked cool i told them to instal them but they had issues with fitment. They said they can hardwire them in or something like that. Not sure what that means? anyways anyone heard about them and is that a better option then HID?

The leds will make the headlights looks bright af but the output will be poor since the housing is not designed for leds.
The housing is designed for a 360* lighting halogen bulb, the led is direct thrown one angle so your lighting pattern will not be what you expect. Still definitely it makes the car look good.
I think they had a problem with fitment because the marauder headlamp housing has an internal harness with a cap cover that covers the whole bulb inside the housing, the led 9007 replacement is kinda long in the back because it has a self ballast and a cooling mechanism, this could caused the cover to not close properly.
For your statements I think they wanted to cut off the 9007 original plug and splice it directly to the led. Still if the leds get trapped inside the housing I don't see how would it get cooled. I diagnos premature failing. Well not really, I just haven't seen anyone adding leds in these kind of housing.

I had LEDs on my truck (99 F-250 Super Duty) and they were a great improvement over the stock lights. The cooling fins on the ass end of the "bulb" would probably not fit in my Marauder. I want projector lights, but am scared to throw down close to a grand for a set and still have to worry if the housing got sealed right and won't fog up. HIDs may be the way to go, but the car came with HIDs from the previous owner, and they are only bright when on low beam. I'm running the stock bulbs now but that is going to have to change as they just aren't quite getting it done.

great info, sounds like for now ill stay away from the LED's until more info is available or they make a kit that would fit my car sounds like HID is the way to go...anyone have a part number for the HID headlights and some fog lights that will match the color of the headlights (they dont have to be HID)

Philips (not imitations) HID bulbs and ballasts are high quality and have performed well in all my vehicles for years.

They do not make hid headlights for these cars, they have to be self installed with some tweaking required to the housing. Projectors can be retrofitted as well, but self install. a member here will be doing them on a order basis but it will be $600 plus estimated prolly and that's if you provide the lights. Lightwerks in NJ will do them but they want $1000. pretty much any headlight, foglight mod is self install for these cars.. fastblackmerc can retrofit the foglights to H1 or H10 bulbs, cant remember which

Brands I recommend from ebay, GPS thunder and PYLE. Phillips are the best to get but they are not cheap at all.

I got a set of LED high and low beam headlights in my Mercury Marauder. And HID bulbs in my Fogger lights. I got two sets because one of them got messes up. So I bought another set. They look and preform great. And I got them from Ebay at a awesome price. I would recommend these to any of you guys. No modification needed. They are plug and play. There is put up a picture with the part number. These are great. I love how they work on my car. Oh and I tinted my light with. The smoke light paper tint. And they still work great at night.

I would like to see pictures of the install, particularly the rear of the headlight housing.

There is a guy on the cobra facebook page that does LED fogs, he said MM fogs shouldn't be an issue but would need one in hand to be sure...

Still interested in the best LED kit. Due to US law against HID aftermarket kits, the genuine Philips HID must be ordered from Australia. So, time to look into LED.

I went hid projectors (50w) had the chrome painted flat black because I was going for that look. I didn't go with the tinted xpel because I didn't want to lose any of the gains of the the projector hids by putting sunglasses over them.

alot of led headlight bulbs say not to use with dust boots, caps like the back of Marauder lights have as they can't vent the heat. leave cap off and moisture can get in

I had purchased these...
OLS Fiat LUX 9007 LED Headlight Bulb Conversion Kit - 72W High/Low Beam 6,000K COOL WHITE https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M1H5F89/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_wr4oybZG1JM AH
While they fit without issue, the actual lighting on the ground, driving at night was horrible.
I went with these instead, and was way better.
