The wife dropped off my marauder to me the other day and as soon as I opened the door I noticed a slight gas smell to it. Thought nothing of it until this morning after pulling out of a parking spot I noticed a small puddle of gas under the front bumper, any ideas as to what might be going on?can't afford to not drive it as it is either one of ours DD.

Are you positive it was gas under front bumper?

Yes I meant to take a picture of it I only noticed it because the parking lot is wet and I was thinking maybe it was the car ahead of me but as I pulled out a bit I noticed the beginning of the drip being around the area of my motor.

Granted the parking lot was freshly rained on and probably made it look bigger than it was I'd say it was a good 3x4 mass of color

I don't see how gas got to the front bumper area. Did you just "see" a spot assumed it was gas because you smelled it ? Did you open the hood and look?

I mean I hope it was a mistake on my part, however some online things I was looking on said possible fuel rail fails or leaks or a fuel pump ?I just dont understand how the smell of gas gets inside the car and then a possible leak is happening is all. And when I opened up the hood I didn't really smell much of anything,I do know my pcv elbow recently was replaced last week and now my check engine light is on.

I would park the car somewhere dry or put a flat, dry and large piece of cardboard under the car overnight and see the next morning if there's a leak. Of course, you can always get underneath the car with a flashlight and look for wet spots in the possible leak areas.

Fuel pump is in tank under trunk over axle area. Fuel rail possible. Find out what code is the engine light
