Probably just purchase them thru my dealer... do we have any information on how to install them..? I feel certain that is an easy job, however just looking at the struts it is not obvious how to disassemble them...
Any info I am sure would be helpful.. As always thanks.... Architect

Do one side at a time
Get a broom handle or some other type of device to prop up the hood in it's fully open position. Your significant other will do
Use a small screwdriver to disengage the metal clips from the socket on each end of the old strut
Pop the old strut off (grab and pull, not much force is needed
Clean the balls :D: (Who doesn't like clean balls?!?!?!?!?!)
I put a small dab or synthetic grease in each cup of the new strut
Pop each end of the new strut on by lining it up with the ball and hitting the back of the socket
Clean any grease that squishes out
After you replace both sides remove whatever you have supporting the hood
Comsume a beer or two while you pat yourself on the back!

Yes, get your significant other to hold the hood. It will make her feel a sense of accomplishment, included in activities and not take for granted the car fires up and runs perfectly whenever called upon.
I'm on my third set of gas struts. Not too bad for a 12 year old car. And most parts for this car are actually pretty cheap. Bought a new throttle position sensor when I got the struts, will find out this weekend if it cures the off-idle surge when I nudge the pedal.
Tasca parts is an inexpensive source for OEM parts.

Or use her broom handle as Jim suggested.

I just replaced my hood struts last summer. Can't beat Rock Auto's prices....

Trust me... my significant other does not resemble a broom handle...

You're just trying to cause trouble with the significant other broom handle references.

I used one of her bras to attach it to the garage door opener. If they are small you might need more then one, but not in my case ;)

You should do this while she isn't using it. Typically, right before dinner. She should be busy cooking during that time.
