Folks,
I am considering mounting my XM radio add-on display unit (from Alpine, their TUA-200XM kit) in the center of my dash where the stock clock is. Of course, I have a 2003 MM which has a separate clock unit mounted right in the center of the silver trim band of the dash just below the radio. I know that the '04's have the clock display in the radio itself and a blank dash. I also read somewhere on a post here (but cannot find it in a word search) that the '03 radios can do that as well - same radio. I thought that I read here that all that is required is to either connect or cut a connection in the factory wiring harness near where it plugs into the radio. If someone knows the way to do this, I would love to hear it. I plan to buy a 2004 dash insert and cut it up for this project - thereby retaining the '03 dash insert and the stock clock as spare parts...
Thanks!
