I bought the Steeda under drive kit, but had the question of running my subwoofers still but using a capacitor. Is that okay to do? I dot mind getting rid of my subwoofer but I'll miss that slight bass kick when I'm road tripping. Insight from anyone is appreciated.

Skip the pulleys.
They are not worth it, regardless of your stereo set up.

I've ridden in one of my buddies marauder with the pulleys so I thought I'd grab the set. It's a 400 watt amp with 10 inch subwoofer.

You thought the pulleys made a difference ?

At best, 10 hp. It's not worth it.

For the price of $50 I think it was a decent buy...

I guess it's all in your expectations. If you're good with less than 2 additional rwhp enjoy them. You'll need to adjust your idle rpm too.

That's pretty optimistic.

Eh for now I think they'll do. But I assume my small amp and subwoofer will be ok? Or should I play it safe and grab a Capacitor? I didn't know about the rpm adjustment, how would I go about that?

With the tune you can turn your idle rpm up.

Hopefully the crank pulley replacement doesn't lead to oil pump gear failure. or front main oil seal leaks. or overheating. Good luck.

When SergntMac did a back-to-back dyno test, he determined the pulleys were worth more like 4-7 HP.
When combined with the PHP upper intake spacer on Phoebe (done at the same time), I do think the engine "spooled up" a little quicker and it felt like there was just a little more throttle response in the mid-range. No idea how much was the pulleys and how much was the spacer, but I bet either one alone would be barely noticeable if at all.

Martyo thanks I was thinking about buying a set of STEEDA under drive pulley. But for the price. To get 10 horsepower. I am good. Same as I should of saved the money. On the Accufab Twin blade Throttle body that I bought. Of a 04 Mach 1 Mustang. I should of listened to you. Because I feel not much of a difference. For $350 bucks. But saving for the Supercharger. As soon as I have it. I will give you a call.

I'm on the fence about the pulleys at this point. I mean I didn't spend a ton, only $50 but as to some of the negativity towards them I think I'll sell them off.

I did a before and after dyno session with my 04'.
Added a PHP spacer, Steeda underdrive crank, and bypassed the second set of cats. It gained me 13rwhp. I had a DR Can tune but adjusted the AF to around 12.8 (saw the best figures at this)
I had the Steeda crank on there from about 45k until I sold the car with 125k. New owner has been driving it like crazy. I never had a single problem with it hurting an oil pump.
It was a good offset for the 4.10's in terms of wear/tear on the accessories at speed. Crusing at 90mph @ 3k was normal for me with long road trips with all the desert highways around here.
The electrical draw back was pretty big. I had to bump my idle to 800 and if I had my AC on high in Vegas heat with the radiator fan on high I'd see my volt gauge get to battery level. If you are in stop'n go traffic a lot don't do one.

I am not trying to get in a fight here but you had a number of mods and a tune revision. Did you test the pulleys alone?

Put them on and see what you think. If you don't like them they are easy to remove.

I have the Steeda UDP and like the difference. Your accessories will be slowed down, I think 15% IIRC. I used my Xcal2 and added 300RPM to my idle and brought everything up to speed. BTW, I have 800 watts with 2 amplifiers and a JL sound system that never starves for power. No capacitors.

I know when you spend hundreds of dollars on performance Mods ,you want to believe that the car actually feels faster!
I'm not saying that the ud pullies are useless, If you can feel 2-3 RWHP in the Marauder, have fun!
I have had the same on the Marauder & GMQ LSE HPP

Pulleys are good as a final mod. When you're trying to pull every last iota of HP and everything else has been done.
You can spend your money on other "go fast" mods first and see and feel a direct response

I factored that in. I didn't adjust the AF until after the baseline then part install. After I adjusted the AF total increase was a whooping 16rwhp for everything. It was running about 12.0 AF for both baseline and after parts.
Basically what I'm trying to say is the gain was marginal considering I did other things at once too.
