After 3 trips to Discount Tire for 2 slow tire leaks on the left front and 1 on the right front we think we have found the cause. Seems the inside of the outer rim bead is corroding causing minute separations of the tire bead from the rim. We have had a very wet year and the tires were wet a lot. Also he said that faster than normal turns could do it. Who me ????? Anyhow the solution seems to be buffing the rim and then applying a sealing compound they have to both the rim and the tire bead . We did this over a month ago on one tire and it seems to be working. Has anyone else had this problem ? It sure had us baffled for a while.

Not with my marauder so far, but many years ago, My Dad had issues with aftermarket American Racing aluminum rims and a blazer after a few years, corrosion between tire and bead was leaking air. After numerous attempts to clean, buff etc.. Ended up putting factory wheels back on. But this was like 30 years ago..but it still happens today

Very common issue. Clean the wheel beads, bead seal, hope it works. Otherwise buy new wheels.

I will be passing though your area in March. See you around.

My truck requires air every week. Cheap ass aftermarket rims are to blame. Discount tire couldn't fix the worst of the them so broke the bead the best I could and used silicone for the first time ever. Win.

Yes it happened to three out of four on mine . Did the same as you. I also removed the valve stems and rolled a piece of 180 grit paper and a stainless detailing brush and cleaned the holes out. They corrode a little also sometimes. If you already have them dismounted always worth checking at least . I have gotten burned before doing one and not both.

Nitrogen helps some also

I heard the same for alloy wheels it keeps condensation (h20) from forming inside tire and corroding the rim lip, which can lead to bad tire seals and slow leaks.

Not claiming metallurgy or NON-FERROUS expert knowledge here.

Alloy doesn't rust it's a non-ferrous metal. It can corrode though

I've had good luck with nitrogen in the tires so I have it in all my cars tires. No problem so far.

Amen, brother. I use only pure nitrogen in all four of my cars, my bike,..., hell even the kids bicycles. There is far less loss than compressed air.

My drivers side front leaks a bit, again. Had the tire re-seated last year, worked for a while.

To be clear, pure nitrogen will not fix a wheel issue. Perhaps have the wheel rim re-surfaced.

I always thought bead sealer was for old poorly made wheels. I guess I never thought of my car's 13 year old wheels as old because I just got the darn thing two months ago, but I have had slow leaks in 2 tires.

I see this a LOT in my business on chromed and plated wheels.

I bought Nitto Motivos for all 4, 2 years ago. Last year around this time I had a slow leak in the passenger front. Went to the tire place and they remounted the tire, and everythings been fine since. Now another year later, the drivers front is doing the same thing. I thought the problem was with who installed them, because a different place did the rears, and they've been fine! Looks like it's time for a trip to the tire store.

I use Fix-a-Flat on my slow leaks. Works every time. Doesn't pool up on the bottom of the tire like Slime.
