It doesn't even affect how it mounts. I took them off 3 years ago when they started coming off. This was tonight before I took the grill out.

Ok, my guy at Ford finally got back to me. THERE ARE NO MORE OEM GRILLES! But.... There are 22 Chrome GM Grilles available. My cost is $100.00 With that said, the chrome can be easily removed by using Super Clean Degreaser! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160219/65689fe1f77e789c788c42bad85b24 63.jpg
Just let it soak in it and the chrome will just melt off. Clean with soap and water and paint it to your needed color. If I do find a stash of grilles I will surely let everyone know...

You might want to look for another Ford guy.
There has not been any MM grilles for a long time.
My Ford guy says there are many 100's GM grilles.
