My wife can no longer receive text messages on her 2013 Ford Explorer after she got her iPhone 6s. We've updated her iPhone to the most current software, so I assume it has something to do with the Ford Sync. It worked just fine with her iPhone 5s. She is able to receive and make calls from the vehicle just fine. I also tried my Motorola Droid Turbo 2 without success. Has anyone else run into this and if so, were you able to resolve it? is there an update to the Ford Sync? Thanks, Curt

Ford's site sync my ride, sign up, download the update, and hope it fixes it. Dealer will do the update for you as well.

Awesome! Thanks. I just downloaded the zip file update to my computer, unzipped it and copied it to a empty flash drive. I'll give this a try tonight when I get home. Sounds like I just need to insert the flash drive into the USB port in the Explorer. I'm sure Ford would have charged me $100 for this.

In the bluetooth menu select the sync profile. The little I with a circle around it. Make sure SHOW NOTIFICATIONS is turned on.

I installed the Sync update and still no texts. Then we did what you recommended and turned Show Notifications on then texts would work. So I wonder if the Sync update wasn't needed? No harm either way. It's always to keep up to date on any updates. Thanks again.

From an iPhone? Should not be, Apple has blocked text messages however there is a tutorial to turn on notifications in SYNC device in bluetooth menu, I'm curious to try it, perhaps something has changed recently

Works fine. Mine phone is linked up with 3 sync systems from 11' to current. When your iphone updates for some reason the "show notifications" is always reset to off. Make sure this is enabled and your sync will read and show you text messages. However you won't be able to respond unless stopped. (My 11' will though, I can choose a quick pre-typed one, my SHO won't let me unless at zero mph)
