View Full Version : Why so few entries ? Timeslips Database

A recent poll showed we have about 285 actual owners of Marauders in our club, the original timeslip database had far more entries than the current one.
I counted 19 individual Marauder cars that have entered an actual 1/4 mile entry. Seems like a low figure, are we loosing interest ?

I have another question too. How come there are so few who actually post the timeslip itself? Most other Timeslip pages on other forums require it... at least for the top ten. I'm not saying I doubt anyone, its just something other boards do to keep honest poeple honest:)
Geez, I hope I don't get flamed for this

Mike, I don't have a problem with lack of timeslips, not everyone has the equipment to scan the slips. As far as I am concerned in this forum a man's word is all it takes for me.
I do wish the participation had been greater , that's all.

well, I haven't run my MM at the track yet. My local track is waaay too narrow for my comfort! Hopefully, I'll be able to run with the Dallas/Ft. Worth guys this summer.
As soon as I have a time slip, I'll post it :burnout:

Yeah, I suppose you're right...sorry for the off topic commentary. I guess I just wanted to voice my opinion about our board based on other timeslip boards I've participated on in the past. Because of the comptetive nature that sometimes arises, I have seen countless legit guys trying to compete against "ghost" racers for top spots. And, more times than not, those who didn't post actual timeslips were proven bogus.
I'll drop the concept though. This place isn't nearly as competitve as some of the Mustang sites I've been on. Sorry for the off topic.
I'll be posting my timeslips soon BTW:)

From tonight Mike?!?! I hope you tear it up at Milan!
And I agree about timeslips, if you can spend the time and money to get your Marauder into the low 12 second range, you can afford to stop and Kinkos and get your time slip scanned. I think Mike is right and in order to hold your place in the top ten, you post a slip.

Mike, your point is well taken and not off topic at all. I would prefer that everyone posted a slip, I guess I was hoping that participation would increase.
Right now with a total of 19 MM. entries being top 10 is not exactly an earth shattering acomplishment. I am not against posting slips, my humble one is there.
As participation increases, I would suggest top 5 entries post a slip mandatory.

Perhaps a little off topic but I was wondering where a bunch of members went, down from 1800+ to 1736 ?

Slips can easily be faked, I see no benefit to posting the slip.

I like seeing the ET's posted. If anyone lies about them, then they're just a wuss.....but as for my car, I haven't been to the track yet since the I've installed the S/Cer. I was supposed to go today, but there are other pending matters related to my homestead that have to be taken care of first. Infact I shouldn't even be online right now....it's just addictive I guess. But I plan on posting my ET's pretty soon.

I haven't put mine up out of sheer embarrassment. I'll find my best slip from last night and post it. But having my ass handed to me by a stock (with the exception of a chip) 6,400 pound F-350 dually with a 6.0 diesel is just humiliating. My best run was 15.627@92.66

Hmm, how many miles were on the car? Conditions are to consider too, but even at that...do some cars run better from the factory in the same condition that others? Obviously, but can there be as much as a second 1/4 difference? Time for some stage one...and skip to 4.30 while you're at it:up:

The car has 18,500 on it. It is completely stock. I have always loved the low RPM cruising, but after that last run, it's time for some 4.10's.
Now I only have to worry about paying for it. Things are just too tight so I'll have to continue driving my Sable in Marauder clothing for now. My worst run that night was 16.351@91.25.

Yea, I would send mine, but I'm computer-impaired. JB
