Time to replace headlight lamps... I am currently running Sylvania 9007 ST.... Saw some discussion on GE Nighthawks, that they might be better...but I can't find the replacement part number for those... anyone know?
Thanks, Architect

GE Nighthawk Platinum 9007NHP - offers +90% output

The Philips X-tremeVision 9007 XVS2 is also excellent (looks like it's been superceded by the XVB2, still named X-tremeVision) - offers +100% output

There's a GE Nighthawk Xenon 9007NHX which looks like a proper (clear, colourless) bulb - offers +120% output

Looks like there are a number of other +100 and up bulbs available nowadays.
I'd stay away from any colour-coated bulb (often blue) - the coating absorbs some of the light, which changes the colour of the emitted light but also reduces the amount of light emitted. The GE NHP and NHX bulbs have a narrow strip of blue coating, but are colourless where most of the light comes out of the bulb.

The NHP is a great price on amazon.com right now.

Just go with a higher wattage bulb

I would love these, but throwing that much money at headlights isn't doable with everything else I'm throwing money at. I just ordered HIDs this morning. The car came with a set, and they're great, but they weren't Bi-xenon. I got these and also opted for the better ballast.

Please let us know how easy they install (says plug and play?), and how they work. And if they blind other drivers.

Hid's without projectors will annoy others.

If they are as good as the ones that were in the car when I got it, I'll love them. That set was way better than stock. Only problem is the high bem was regular, so that made the HID low beam, way better than the regular high beam. Just pissed me off to hit the high beam, and it got darker out. I never had people flash me either. I drove the car like that for two weeks and took the housings out to put my LEDs from my truck in. (I loved them too) They wouldn't fit. Didn't know about that ring the bulb had to go into at the rear of the housing. (what's up with that?) And why can you not just reach in behind and get your hand in there? You have to be a skinny contortionist. I just took the housings out to change, but the LED fan wouldn't fit in that stupid ring.

Pretty sure my new HID high beams will piss off other drivers, but I' don't leave my high beams on when there is oncoming traffic, so that's a non issue. I hate people that do. I live in a rural area though, and need the light to throw far so I can see those deer and other critters.

Projectors are best. I'll agree to that, but I'm not ready to throw a grand at my headlights just now. (and you have to do the mod yourself, risking not getting the housing sealed) Someone offers a plug and play projector for $500 or less will sell a lot. My new HIDs ran just over $100 with the bigger ballast.

I agree about the HIDs without projectors. You can immediately tell when someone else has done this as there is no "aim" to thier light beam.

Anyone tried the Extreme Vision Phillips?

Tha add photos are impressive! Not that I trust the add Photos.

I could sure use 100% more light. Does anyone think there is more heat generated?

Again, anyone tried them?

I have a set of an earlier version of the Xtreme Visions when they were named Xtreme Power. When they were new, they were fantastic! Couldn't outrun them on the 401 heading to Toronto from Montreal on a clear night.
Years later they still work, but they've definitely lost some of their lumens. I need a new set, but they're hard to find and pricey up here.

I couldn't tell you if they generate more heat - but I suspect, if they do, it's not much; certainly not enough to cause any damage.
