OK,You all keep talking about the air ride sensor linkage....That's good....Who knows the part number for the actual sensor which is the electrical part at the end of that linkage????I believe it's a resistor or a rheostat....The other end of the actuator linkage....Anyone have one??? Part number???

All I find is the complete assembly...part# 8W1Z5359A......lowest price I find is $200....If anyone has one, please shoot me a PM....Thanks

There is another part 8W1Z5359AFC that I can't find a picture of but,I'm thinking that is the actual sensor part...That's about $65....If someone could verify that for me it would help a lot...Thanks......

If Ray the dealer is reading this, please get in touch and straighten this out for me....

I don't think Ray The Dealer has posted in a long time. Here is some info from 2010 that might be helpful in contacting him.

I'd try removing the sensor and cleaning it with some brake cleaner and electrical contact cleaner.

Nobody that is active here has probably dealt with that part, only the whole assembly. Call your local ford dealer or go the parts dept and give them the part number and have them look it up to see if that is what you want or you may just have to buy the whole assembly. Tasca says it is discontinued, other sites still show it.

You posted up the service manual for this circuit, did you do the pinpoint tests? And.....what are the findings from the diagnosis?

There is more to it than just bags and a compressor, as you found out. So, without results from the diagnosis, it's hard to offer advice that will help since we cannot see the problem over the Internet. Although plenty will offer "help", and as you'll find out for yourself, they are just parts changers, not actual technicians that work on cars.

Thanks guys...Spectragod,I really don't have the equipment or the know how to do those all those tests....I pluged in my scan tool and as you said,no codes....
I was trying to not spend the $200 on the whole assembly...Especially when I don't know if that's the problem...
I'll wait and see what happens....If it goes out,I'll bite the bullet and take her in to a shop...I can change out the compressor and dryer myself..No biggy...As far as an intermittent short,I'll have to have a pro trace it down...
As always,Thank You....:bows:

I believe the air ride height sensor is a hall-effect switch. No electrical wear, although there is mechanical pivot. It is not like a throttle position sensor which is a variable resistor and can wear. If the thing moves smoothly and isn't mechanically broken or has a bad connection it is not the most likely point of failure. It should be easily testable as you move the switch through it's travel. Time to dig out the electrical schematic and test procedure.

Thanks for your input...Really helpful in eliminating the height sensor as the culprit....I'll have to check out the connection though...
I still think it's a short somewhere...I'm going to try tracing some circuits...Starting at the on/off switch.....I know the ARS should not work with the doors open...Mine does..I'm thinking control module...I'll check the connections and report back...

I replied in one of the other threads.

You have multiple threads about this same subject all over the board...you might want to stick with just one to avoid so much confusion.

how to check ARS module????? This question was asked years ago, never answered...Anyone know how to check if it's good or bad????
Sorry about the multible posts all over the board ..ADMIN,if you want combine them all into one thread....

This (http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00061.html) will tell you everything you need to know about the RAS

And it is RAS (Rear Air Suspension), not ARS...

Thanks OVERLORD,I saw that .....Are the wire colors the same on 03 MM???These tests are for older Lincolns.....

On our MM's...How can I test the solenoids by jumping wires under the hood????

I think that a lot of what I've posted in other posts are wrong due to my not taking the timed duty cycle into consideration....Like turning off the switch while compressor running...It was still in the 59 minute cycle..Same with opening the door..

As you can tell.I'm lost on this.....I hate to put in coil springs if it's a seized solenoid that I can replace for a lot less

Will someone tell me how to determine if it's the solenoids are not releasing air????Would one bad solenoid keep both from working???

Just incase, those of you that have converted to coil springs, which springs did you get???

I took her into the shop....Bad compressor.Changed it out for a new one...No problems so far...The mechanic said it wasn't putting out any pressure even though it ran..
He did say that one of the solenoids wasn't opening...I'll replace them..

Hopefully case closed...:)
