View Full Version : Floor Mat Question
Some years ago the MM.net site had a "group buy" on stock appearing floor mats made by Redline Tuning.
Today I took them out the box (in their plastic bag) and while they are beautiful the front mats are somewhat deformed. Sitting in one position does that I guess.
My question is: should I put them in the car, as is, and hope the wrinkles come out or is there a procedure to smooth out the mats?
Thanks,

The procedure is as follows:
Step #1-Tell yourself you are disgusted with them.
Step #2-Sell them to me for $50 and I will reluctantly purchase them.
That is all, simple as that!

Put them in the sun, that should help, plus maybe put some weight on the
To flatten for a day
OK, I will try that. Today was cloudy with rain during the afternoon. Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be sunny.
cheers.

Lay them flat and they will flatten out.

Not a lot of weight, like a big city phone books or something, they don't need 30-40 lbs.

Lift up your mattress and place them on top of your box spring.
An old counterfeiters trick.;)

A review. After sunning, weighting, pressing and wringing the new mats from Redline
Tuning the driver's side fitted great.
However, the passenger side folded over bout 6" from the top when installed.
I determined that the rubber backing was pulling the top over onto itself.
I slit the rubber backing along the horizontal plane at the crease line with a razor blade and problem solved.
Your new mats may not need this operation. I recommend a test fit if you haven't taken the mats out of the box.
Cheers
