Afternoon everyone! Finally got my thousand dollar marauder's new engine installed.. But during install I came across a mysterious red vacuum line coming from the firewall right behind the engine. I don't recall unhooking this line, nor could I find any vacuum ports to connect it to? Inside the nipple looked dusty, like it wasn't hooked up prior to me removing the old engine. Anybody have any ideas???

Pictures might help.

Red? There is about 2' or so of a white one that passes thru the firewall and not used on '04's. It was originally used for the automatic parking brake release on '03's. I can't recall a red one though?

Plastic vacuum line for the EATC system is white. If the engine is running, see if your EATC works.

Same happened to me. There is a plastic T behind the intake, under the wiper cowl, I'd say closer to the passenger side of the car, which carries vaccuum for the EATC. Mine was melted through from the stupid EGR. Replaced it and EATC fixed.

The line needs to be hooked up to vacuum. If memory serves it is the same junction that sends vacuum to the vac box on top of the DS fender.

Okay, I believe I found the vacuum tee under the cowl, there is one free port, but it has a factory plug on it capping it off. I found I vacuum junction box in front of the console, it had a black line going to it that was cut, but sucking vacuum. I plugged it back in, still stuck on defrost

What about the white plastic tube?
Not sure what you mean by "console".

Post 3. All '04's have this extra vacuum tube. I use it as a chase for boost lines. [emoji6]

Oh nice.
He never referenced the white plastic tube again in his fix and I have no idea what he means by a console. Trying to help but...

The white plastic line runs between the EATC and the vacuum connection on the firewall. I'm not sure what the vac box is in front of the console. Auto emergency brake release maybe?
