Have you always used synthetic in it? if not I would not start now due to the cleaning agents in synthetic. I have been told that if you run conventional oil to continue to run conventional if you have higher miles cuz the synthetic will clean the inside of the engine and any gunk that is on your seals can be taken off and they could start seeping making your engine smoke. Just my 2 cents. Mine has 107,000 and I run Havoline conventional oil with no problems, but it is all your preference.

If it was me I personally would just use a conventional, high mileage or not. Give her a good tune up, spray the throttle body out and clean it up, spray the mass air flow sensor off(CRC makes mass air cleaner), plugs and let er rip. Also I use nothing but Motorcraft oil filters. But these are just my opinion.

These cars are a blast to drive, they become very addictive. For a big car they are alot of fun. I recently had the chance to sell mine off and get a 2013 Taurus SHO but I just couldn't bring myself to sell the Marauder yet. Now if it was for a supercharged Marauder then it woulda been fair game lol.

Me too. I was so happy when I got mine. I love how big and comfy they are, yet they are still sporty.

BTW, I'm a fan of Mobil 1 with the Motorcraft filter.

You can switch between conventional and synthetic without issue. If your motor was poorly maintained and in poor mechanical condition and was sludged up, then switching to synthetic *might* cause some leaks from the cleaning of sludged and hardened seals, but this will abate as the seals become reconditioned by the fresh oil.

Use whatever 5W-20 or 5W-30 oil makes you happy, but the Motorcraft FL820S is the best value-for-money filter.

I'd use 10w-30 with that mileage

0W30 ? NOT 5W30 FOR HIGH MILAGE

Not a wives tale.

This is actually factual information - 35 years ago.

Since then, dino oil technology has improved to the point that you can interchange with synth w/o the seal leaks that actually used to happen back then - I know, I was there. Also participated in on Mobil 1 R&D training where Mobil instructed us NOT to use it in engines with 25k+ history on dino oil to avoid the leaks & the resulting negative customer issues.

If engine had proper oil changes (pull a valve cover & inspect to easily determine) & no signs of oil leaks, 10w-30 synth with quality filter = good to go for high miles.
