Me and a few buddies went to the strip tonight. It was my first time that I saved the slips from my passes. Technically, this was my second time to the strip, but I don't count the first time since I only got one actual run before I had to race my girlfriend back home after gettin the sickening call that her father had passed away from an unexpected heart attack. I'd rather put that night out of my head; so, needless to say, goin and enjoyin a good time with friends tonight is why I like to think of this as my first "official" visit to the strip.
On to the subject matter. My three best passes were:
1 - 8.9236 @ 76.87 (3rd run of the night)
2 - 9.4817 @ 76.05 (2nd run of the night)
3 - 9.5507 @ 76.90 (4th run of the night)
The rest of the details on each pass can be seen in the pics of the slips.
For the life of me, I don't know how I got the car to hook on the 8.92 pass. I ran the same lane the whole night (left), and the tires were at 34 psi when I ran it. I held the break and raised rpms to 1200-1500 before each launch - this pass was no different. Did the same 1-2 second burnout to get dust off the tires as all the other runs. Couldn't reproduce it the rest of the night, even after I lowered rear tire pressure to 30 psi. I ran in the 9.6 range consistently the rest of the night. I guess she just hooked and went that time.
Overall, had a great time gettin some experience under my belt. Lookin forward to gettin some consistent sub 9 second 1/8 mi. passes and hopefully some 1/4 experience in the near future.
