I still want to buy a new fuse box...Appreciate you looking out for me Bryan...But,If you're selling,I'm buying..Even If I hold it as a future project....

I'll have to look if that bolts in on the fuse box.

Can't you just open up the fuse box and see where that broken metal piece goes?

It might just be a few inches long?

I wanted to buy the fuse box with the harness and switch the whole thing into my car...I have bad or shorted grounds somewhere..I know from past experience that my fuse box is a weak point in my electrical wiring...I bought a fuse box from EBay from a grand Marquis....I'd rather get the Marauder box with the wiring harness attached...Bryan...

Electrical issues up the kazoo....Car died on me...Battery IS good...BJB or battery junction box needs to be replaced...easier said then done...All those wires that go into and out of that fuse box are not on a connector...So,if I get a fuse box,it means splicing 60 wires....First I have to find one....Hopefully I can get one with the harness....Or if anyone knows some place that will rebuild mine....That's where it's grounding out...I just bought a new Challenger...yea...So.I'm putting the Marauder on the back burner for now....
Someone else think they can fix her??Car has been in a few wrecks...Never totaled.Always fixed by insurance co....Brand new paint job...Immaculate interior..Lidio tune...410 gears..CAI......It may just go on sale....Let me know if your interested and we can talk....

All of the wires have connectors that will come out of the socket (housing) of the fuse box and plug into the replacement box. From the top side, pull the fuses, relays, etc. Then pull the plastic retainer. Then from the back side you can pull the connector out of the fuse box, it may require a little pick tool or small screwdriver to release the tab on the connector.

It's slow, but not nearly as bad as adding a bunch of splices. Just do it one wire at a time so nothing gets crossed.

I didn't know that...I have one from an 03 grand marquis...Will that work for me????

It should work, but there are some circuits that will be different. It's probably easier to just pull all the wires out of the donor first. Gives you a chance to practice. Then swap the wires one at a time from the Marauder to the donor.

What's the point in changing the plastic fuse box when the wiring is shorted?

All your doing is putting shorted wires in a different box

I'm not trying to be mean here, but did you ever unplug the battery and separate the lower half of the fuse box? Check for mice damage or just a shorted couple of wires?

Did you ever do the fuse by fuse and relay by relay test?

There's like 15 wires that go up to the Heater box, 8 go inside the car, and then there's the main HULK that goes near the crash bar. Once the insulation breaks free of power wires, they give power to other circuits (your compressor) and now your getting voltage on many circuits because it's getting worse

This wrecked marauder here has the same issue yours does, the wires are pinched and crossing each other.
I would skip your mechanic and find a good electronics specialist.

Inner fenders, nose , bumper will need to be pulled to access complete harness
It's not fun, I just did one and it's a bunch of work

Hopefully you could find a complete harness from a non wrecked car and swap the entire thing over if you take your time

Have you checked the few known wiring harness problem spots???

These can cause ALL the problems you describe - just ask LMark what he went through before Curless found and repaired his.

If you can get the car and parts to me, I'd do it for you.
Thanks for the kind offer...I may take you up on it....I can have the car sent to you..I hate to put this off on you....I'm going to see if I can find a professional automotive guy locally....The cables both pos. and neg. need to be replaced...I've hacked into them...The fuse box is a mess....The connection point has been a weak point for a long time....I am in the process of checking all the places outlined for me where shorts are known to occur....I have pulled fuses and relays....The air ride issue was an indication of something else....That relay in the BJB was getting shorted....
I'll give it a rest for a while and then see what's what......Jim,you are the best...I'll be in touch......
