Greetings to you each.

I need to replace my rear rotors and pads. If you could see them I am sure you would agree. This will be my first attempt doing a brake job on my own. I may have a marginally experienced person helping me.

In my area I can get the OE replacement from Napa for $274.44 : http://www.napaonline.com/napa/en/p/UESSD880129KT1_0436804047

When I go to amazon.com I see lots of options some are performance related. I am most interested in two things 1)price and value 2) staying away from the junk that is out there that is masquerading as something performance rated.

When it comes to basic instructions my intention is to search YouTube for crown vic rear brake info.

Your recommendations with regard to replacement parts and tutorials are appreciated very much.

Don't forget rear emergency brake shoes and hardware. Do one side at a time and have both rear wheels off ground so you can reference the put together side. Use some anti seize or at least heavy grease on hub area to slow down the rusting of rotor to hub . You may need a big hammer and possibly need to loosen there brake shoes thru the rubber window on the back side of backing plate using the star adjuster.

Thank you. Great points for me to consider. Since you mentioned it...I now realize that the brake set pics do not include emergency brake shoes and hardware. Much appreciated.

Rear calipers on our rigs like to go bad and lock up right after they are compressed back in to install new pads - just saying you might want to prepare yourself for it - and FYI when they do they can and will fry your pads and rotors, ask my how I know..

Other than that, rear brakes on a panther are some of the simplest.
