The neighborhood kids always seem to congregate at our house during the days (maybe it’s because we feed them!?) our kids are lucky that we buy their friends!!

Anyway, I’m like the biggest kid in the neighborhood, I have a super loud motorcycle, and always coming home with a big box of something or other that is cool..fishtanks, hot tub, etc… so this weekend I was monkeying around with my new ZEX nitrous system… and needless to say these kids think I am the best.. I’ve got “nawss” they think it is so cool. I’m glad to be consistent in giving them something to wake up for each day… now if I could only get my wife to appreciate me as much!!

James,
That quote has me laughing so hard I have tears rolling .... Great!!!!

Darebren,

Congrats. You must be doing something right. Having the kids hanging at your place means your kids ain't hanging somewhere else. And, you can get to know their friends. The price of drinks and sandwiches is well worth it. Your kids will turn out much better because of it --- and if they learn some stuff from you and your wife along the way .... so much the better. Far too many kids today don't have that kind of leadership or parents that they can look up to -- if they are even around much. When the kids stop hanging at your place and getting the freebies, that's when I'd start to worry.

About that wife appreciation thing ---- no help here --- you gotta play that one by ear.

I used to love that show as a kid. And you're right about the children as well, if they trust you and show a lot of respect, they're more likely to feel bad about getting into trouble (therefore not getting into trouble) and more likely to feel remorse for doing something stupid if they do (more likely to fess up).
I know a thing or two about feeling bad and remorseful:lol:

Hell, I may have to start coming by your house and start drooling over your toys! While i'm undecided on how to start modding my Marauder, i'm just too much of a chicken to give nitrous a try............

Dennis the Menace was absolutely one of my favorite shows when I was a kid! These days, King of the Hill is probably my favorite cartoon.........
