Has anybody tried the JBA shorty headers for a 2004 Mustang in a Marauder? Is it a decent fit or butchery?
No, I can't run illegal long tubes in California, but I can do a "Mustang" engine swap.

Some have used Cobra shorties in the past. No real gain and they tended to crack over time. Not sure about JBA

Just looking at the Cobras I can see why they crack from unrelieved stress from thermal expansion. The JBA headers (http://www.jbaheaders.com/detail_shortyV.asp?id=1625S-7JT) are significantly different. Power gains may not be as good as long tubes, but I have to pump the exhaust through something and they surely are better than manifolds. I'm replacing the engine, so cats and headers should be done at the same time.

JBA is generally good stuff for aftermarket and not extremely expensive

If you are a member over at moddedmarauder.net look up Musclemerc. He is the resident expert on JBA's

I can vouch for JBA quality...
I put JBA headers on my 'shake n rattle' V6 Ranger.
They are bullet proof!
150,000+ miles of DD duty and no cracks or broken welds.
* and this POS 3.sl0w V6 is one crappy idling, shaky V6....always has been....always will be.
Never EVER buy a Vulcan V6 engine.....:shake: ....150HP worth of cast iron junk.

These are the ceramic coated mid length headers.
EGR pipe will need to be redone. I think they are CARB ok.

I wish they were smog legal, but I don't see the CARB reference on the web page. The shorties I linked above do state they are legal.
Typically they don't allow moving the cats further downstream.
