On way home from work, I hit some rough pavement and the engine on my Marauder quit running suddenly, and check engine light came on, any suggestions on what may have come loose, disconnected or broke? thanks for any ideas

Are you sure you hit some rough pavement and it wasn't the Marauder engine falling apart?

No codes, I have a tune and 410's from prev. owner, just had an emissions test done, they said they had to put it back to stock tune for test? drove it 200 miles with no issues, then after work, i hit a pothole and it died, last night. I coasted in neutral downhill for a mile and a half, right into the driveway !,tried to start in neutral on the way, and no go, it started up in park in driveway and seems ok this morning, anything I should check?

I was being serious. I thought I hit something in my car once and it was the splash shield coming apart and it took out all kinds of electrical including the ambient temp sensors and the electric fan plug.

If the inertia switch engaged the engine would not have restarted the next morning, as the OP stated, unless you reset the switch.

Battery connections dirty or loose.

Thanks for the replies, the battery connections were my initial gut feeling, it seems the battery hold down is a bit loose, would a sudden jarring of the battery cause the engine to stall?

No, perhaps you have a wiring harness rubbing somewhere and the bump was enough the make contact and cause a short. That would explain why it would restart later on. Is you air intake secure?

Check the wiring harness on the drivers side under the hood back by the firewall. It can rub against the cowl bracket there and short out.

I think it is time for a new car. No fixing this problem. ;) Check the basics.

Hey turbo v6 with the pontiac on your avatar, I really don't need your foolhardy responses and insinuations, you have been a poster on this forum for nearly 2 years and already you are slinging your negative comments at the Marauder community, I was simply asking for suggestions that may help myself and others , stick with your v6 firebird friends and GFY!

Check the harness mentioned above and the harness at the left front fender / bumper area near the headlights.

Sounds lame... But check the entire CAI at all connections.

The pot from the pothole made the engine forget what it was doing.

Sorry, just couldn't resist letting the 60's talk again. No constructive answer for the problem.
