Hello! So my abs speed sensor went bad on my 2004. Unscrewed the part that goes into the back of the brake area. It was completely stuck in there so I tried prying it with a screw driver, hitting it with a hammer etc.. Anyway I finally got it to budge but the damn thing snapped off. I took a blow torch to it so I could pull the rest out (melt the plastic) the metal part fell into the brake chamber.... So do I have to take it all apart to get that piece out or could I just stick the new one in and call it a day? Thanks much

Check maybe you can pull it out with a magnet

Don't leave it in there could cause way more problems.

Don't be lazy.....
Do the repair the right way, take it apart.
If not your next post will most likely be............. "I have a noise in my rear wheel" or "my rear rotor seized up"

You just take the rotor off then? I'll have to go get a big ass rubber mallet cause that rotor is stuck. I'll let ya know how it goes

You'll most likely have to back off the parking brake as well. They often create a snAll
Lip on the drum . It is accessed thru small rubber oval plug on back of backing plate. Need to turn the star wheel

well I bashed that rotor for about an hour and my neighbor let me borrow his sledge hammer... That did the trick. Took out the broken piece and installed the new one. Say goodbye to those pesky dash lights. I think I'll be sore tomorrow haha

With a pulsation if you don't replace the rotor you just beat the crap out of.:shake:

I didn't hit the rotor where the pads meet and luckily didn't hit any studs so no pulsation and it's good to go. Took a test drive on the highway and got some beers at the bar for my effort.

Next time do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtsTJCRljAs so you don't potentially cause yourself very expensive damage.
