I am about to pull the trigger. And buy 2 Nitto 285-40-18 NTO5R Drag radials. For my Mercury Marauder. My question to you all here. Will those fit on my car. Right with out and problems ? I did my rear suspension last Monday. With a 8.8 rearend cover. Royal Purple fluids and rearend additive. I am getting my car ready. For the ADTR. Net Stage 2 Vortech Supercharger kit. That is coming in early to mid May. I want to know if any of you all know if they fit. With out any problems. I don't drive my car in the rain. Or Snow here in NYC. So I already heard that. Just want to know. If they fit. With out any problems. Thank you very much.

Shorter than front tire so traction control will be problem. Might be too wide for 8" rims. Must maintain 3 to 6% size difference front to back

The best tire for a 8" wide stock marauder wheel is the Nitto 555 265/50 18

RubberCtyRauder so they won't fit your saying. I am getting a smoking deal on them. Brand new and free shipping. I see the 305 those I know are too wide. So you are saying the 285-40-18 are a no go ?

MOTOWN that tire is not a drag radial. For that I leave my factory BFG G-Force tires on it not. I want a Drag Radial. Not a street tires.

285s are too wide for an 8" rim, don't do it. Either widen your rims or look for a narrower tire.

That is the narrower they make. Then it is 305. So you are telling me there are no drag radials that fit a Stock Mercury Marauder rim.

No. You can either find a sticky set of street tires that fit your rim, or send your wheels out to be widened & run a 305/45R18.

I wouldn't put a drag radial on without upgrading your axles.... you going to snap one.

I went drag radial for one summer on the daily trilogy marauder. That's it, that's all they lasted.
Never again on the daily.

There is no drag radial that fit the stock marauder wheel. Widening 1.5 " is the only choice to keep Marauder rims. Upgrade to 31 spline axles and carrier are recommended with drag radials.

No, widen the wheels or stick with a 265 tire.

I've got a 285/50/18 on my '03 wheels with no problems...
I've got a 285/50/18 on my '03 wheels with no problems...So do I! Been running them for six years now. To Vegas and the Pacific Ocean and back last year, Savannah and Tybee Island GA, the year before. Ran them on Gingerman road course and Autobahn? near Chicago. Couldn't find two Continentals like ADAM is running, the dealer stuck a pair of Pirelli's on without telling me, just wish that they were stickier. Can bark them without wearing them down. Have 36k on them and they still look good. :burnout:

What brand and name of tire is this 285/50/18? Is it a street tire or a drag radial?
