Okay I just seen Mickey Thompson 275/40R18 ET Street tires. My question is will these fit on the rear 8 inch Mercury Marauder wheels. I have heard 285 need wider wheels. I just saw these. And I want to buy me a set. But I also don't want to widen my wheels. Or buy a set of Weld wheels. In order to have a set of Drag radials. So when I put my ADTR Stage 2 Vortech Supercharger kit and my Converter. I want to run it at the track. But I want the best traction I can get. So I can get the best ET possible. I did my CHE PREFORMANCE upper and lower control arms. And there watts link arms. I want a sticky tire in my rear tires. So I can kill stupid SRT-8 MOPARS.

You should just buy a pair of steelies and slicks for the track only. Cuz running these sticky tires all the time will get expensive and wear out your axles quick. But yeah they will fit.

They will be too short. You can not run a short tire in back. Traction control will kick in. Must maintain 3-6% staggered size difference. Either widened your wheels or buy 16 or 17 inch x. 9 or 9.5 wide for drag radials. There is not a drag radial that is tall enough got stock rims to keep traction control and ABS happy.

It's funny when people ask a question, and don't like the answer unless it's what they want to hear.

275/40/18 is 2 inches shorter than stock size. And shorter than front tires. It will not work. Drag radials are out if the equation. 265/50/18 nitto nt 555 is your best bet

MOTOWN I don't get mad. When I ask a question. And I don't get the answer I want. I thought this site. Is for all Mercury Marauder and none Marauder Panther guys and gals. To give each other feed back and advice.

RubberCtyRauder everybody is saying goes the Nitto 555 tire. But that is not a drag radial. And I am not worried about. The Drag radial wearing out fast. Or driving in the rain. I don't drive in the rain of snow. In NYC area weather. As for the wear on the rearend. I am going there next. After I am done with the SC install and tune.

There is NO drag radial that fits with stock wheels and maintains traction control and ABS. I'm not bringing up the wear rate. I don't care. There is not a tire that meets your requirement in a drag radial. Do you understand? You have no options of drag radials for N 18 x 8 rim and maintain 28+ inches tall. You can not put a 26.5 tall tire on the rear abd have a 27" tire in the front. I don't know how much easier it is to explain. Either widen your rear wheels or forget drag radials.

Lmao! It has nothing to do with getting mad , or upset, your not understanding what everyone is telling you , there is no such drag radial to fit an 8" wide wheel

For track only I've owned two sets that were this size to change the effective gear ratio. Looks retarded and you'll have to adjust your shift points, but you'll also get a better ET..

That right there is the most straight forward answer you'll get. Drag radials won't help you beat SRT8s either. Being able to hook a little better does not equal the 125 to 185 extra horses that they have.

The add to the drag tire issue you will pickup every stone on the road and your rear fender will be a loud rock-n-roll band. Secondly when you light up your tires with the sticky pebbles all over the tires you may reconsider your tire choice.

Bads55, he has a blower coming to install so he'll have done more ponies. He wants to run drag radials on the street. But the size isn't there he needs for stock wheels

Yea no need to worry what I am going to have for power. RubberCtyRauder thanks for clearing up. That I am waiting for my blower. Should be any day now. It is that I paid extra to get. The HTS ceramic coating on the pipes and intercooler. Also send to get the brackets powder coated semi Gloss black. As for the comment about hanging with the Mopar Boys. I got my Show car race car Street car Fox Mustang hatchback. That is a Hell Cat killer on motor. And I got spray to put me. In the single digit at the track.

Widen your wheels and go 305/45-18 MT ET street, the treadwear rating is -0-, they will hook, unless your like some on here with too much power, then you'll need to back half the car.

Love the color on the fox, I think it is lacking some equipment to be in single digit times though.

Lmfao lacking what equipment. Do you know what is in the car. To say that have you seen it run. As for the making my wheels wider no way. I am get Weld RT 17 inch wheels all around. You guys are funny here. You all are are say it doesn't a single digit on the 1320 feet quarter mile. Yet don't know nothing about my car. Or the big and i mean big money in it. But i have nothing to prove to any of you. I know what is in it. And what she can do.

Well, from what little that can be seen in your photo's, and your 8.50 claim, a parachute is in order for starters, because your going to be 150+.

Aftermarket rear axles would also be required, and a NHRA competition license, master electric cutoff, window nets and other things I don't see in your very few pictures......

Link to NHRA rules.....

I don't really want to know any of that, I was only stating that the equipment was not visible in the pictures provided. My response was based on your question as to what equipment was missing.

Don't forget the padding on the roll cage, it's required equipment and you'll need your NHRA license. :D

Now you don't want to know all that. Cage is NHRA certified. And i have my NHRA License already. So you asked i let you know.

Why do we keep talking about Mustang's?

So, have you looked into any taller 17" drag tires if you are going to change wheels? I have a 295/45R17 MT Drag Radial on one of my cars and love it. I am not sure if they make that size anymore though.
