I just had to replace the original Motor craft Battery that came in my car (Black Marauder) when I purchased it in September 2004. Does anyone else still have their original battery in their car?

Mines croaked in 2011 , you definitely got your money's worth!

That's impressive, I've never had a battery last that long. Just curious; did you disconnect it during the winter and/or keep a battery tender on it?

I am still running on my factory battery in a car built 5/29/2002!

I bought a new battery for it last summer just to cover my ars, but I haven't put it in yet (carry it in the trunk). At this point I have to see how long this will go. Took the car on a long trip Sunday and it still cranks great.

I keep it on a battery tender in the winter, but it's still connected to the car.

Almost 14 years old. Who'd have thunk.

I replaced mine a few years back. it was probably ok but I think I just did it out of preventative maintainance.

I replaced mine in 2012 after 8 years. Nothing wrong with it, I just don't like getting stuck somewhere.

Nope, the harsh Delaware winters where it would sit for months did not affect it at all. And no tender to keep it topped off!!

I too just change them out for what I like to call "Cheap Insurance". In fact I usually don't let them go past 4 years. Living in Florida, I'm told the heat kind of kills them for the long haul.

Replaced mine in 2014 during eaton swap, was still good.

Non motorcraft, but my dad's '04 lexus GS still has the original battery going strong.

I bought my car almost being 4 years old. And it had a aftermarket battery in it already. I was surprised to see that. I replaced it with a motorcraft battery.

Your living on borrowed time with the original and I'd be worried the replacement might be dead just sitting in the trunk for almost a year. The battery guys who stock shops with new batteries do rotate the ones that sit unbought from time to time.:)

I replaced the factory battery in my '04 Marquis earlier this winter. The OE one was cranking fine, but I didn't want to get stranded on a cold day.

Went with a Motorcraft 850, naturally.

I am lucky to get 4 years on a car battery regardless of the battery or the car.

I keep it charged up. Nothing worse for a battery than to let it go weak.

Mine lasted about 9 years and I have a 2003 which was put into service in July of 2002. I purchased another Motorcraft battery.

Marauder already came with a replacement battery when I got it but my Audi ran on its original battery just until recently, being the same year as the Marauder I thought that was pretty impressive.

Sounds like I'm the last one running on the factory battery.

I'll let you know when it finally croaks.

I have an OE battery in my Marauder, keep it on a tender when not being driven, load test and check state of health every year on it.

Pics taken last week, just verifying I'm not fibbing....

I still have mine, Build date Nov.2003. It still holds a charge and inside the little window it's still green. All I do is place a battery tender on it for a few day's every other month. BTW I only drive it a few hundred miles a year.

Mine croaked in 2008 and then next one in 2015. Considering I'm still under 40k miles, I'm on my 3rd battery. I learned my lesson and kept the latest one on a tender all winter while the car was hibernating.

Don't rely on that little green window. The window can still be green but not have enough juice to crank the starter. That happened to my Taurus SHO last Thanksgiving .... After I had loaded the car with all of the food and goodies. Not even enough juice left to operate the trunk release or the doors ... But the Green window was still showing when I pulled the 3 year old battery.

I don't, I have a MidTronics battery tester, I check all my cars semi frequently.
