Do you have to drop the exhaust, to swap out the tailshaft?

No , but the transmission Xmember has to be dropped, your in for a treat!

I used to think the crossmember was a huge deal, then I dropped two using a powerful air chisel both times.... I had both out in 5-10 minutes

Did it for my 5th time or so last week so I guess I've got it down lol. well that and it's probably looser than one from 03....

5' digging bar. 30 seconds.
I chuckled when the cross member hit the ground. Kept chuckling as I kicked that overweight POS all the way to the scrap pile too!
