Cracked thermostat housing

Upper half is cracked and leaking. Does this ever happen?? Seems odd to me.

Does anyone have a spare laying around they'd like to sell me? I hate to spend the money on something I'm just gonna remove soon since I'm switching to the on3 kit over the summer

just replaced mine about two weeks ago, , it had an odd crack that looked like it may have been there for awhile, surely wouldn't have been installed that way? might have to have a word with some of my buddies from S.T.A.P

Mine is both halves bolted together with original bolts, less t-stat from an original 2003 MM in fine condition and not cheap China junk.
