As some of you who may have read here,my 03 MM has an electrical issue..I can't find anyone local that can fix it..I'm thinking about shipping the car to someone who can...So,after shipping and diagnosing and then fixing,I'm probably looking at somewhere between 1&2K..If I'm lucky...
I already bought a new car,so time isn't an issue...I'm wondering what I can get for her to someone who parts these cars out...Car was just painted...So you'll have front and rear bumpers.,doors etc...Interior is pristine..Dash,console seats etc. all near perfect..Plus 4 original wheels...Motor runs very strong..Does 130 like nothing...410 gears.CAI,custom tune and SCT xcal tuner..Full size spare..Trunk organizer..CD changer,,Marauder mats..New air ride compressor.New front brake pads and rotors..Maybe 50 miles on them..Car was running great and just died..No noises,no smoke,nothing..Just died while inline for the car wash
How much can I get for it????I'll consider all reasonable offers....Ofcourse car will need to be transported...And NO $8 won't buy it...

How many miles are on the car? What year is it? If I read your comments right, the car is in good shape, but for the non-start problem. Any other significant issues with the car? I am asking because I do have time to fool with the electrical problem.

What are the miles, color combo, options any prior accidents?

My mom wants a marauder so I could offer a fair amount

Who painted it and what is the quality of the paint?

Has been in 3 accidents in 13 years..I'm the original owner...Insurance had it fixed...No skimping

Sorry. Gotta be blunt and truthful. Feeler is nothing more but searching for someone to over pay for something that you are already aware of that does not have the value you would like. You can't be wishy-washy about selling something. If you "really" want to sell it. Set a price that is negotiable, post all info about the car (in a for sale thread) WITH pics of everything and it will sell. I know it might sound rough, but I mean it with honesty and trying to help you.

Completely agree. And this goes for a low mile fully blown trilogy as well as a 183,000 mile stock ride.

No one is served by a "I'm thinking about selling..." As the reality of the market in not brought to fruition. Also, the "No need to really sell so..." Is total BS. A respectful $xx,xxx firm, is all that is needed.

Full data + full pictures + full disclosure + full service records = FULL PRICE!

Measure both sides of the diode, it will be open one way and not the other, if it's open both ways, it's bad

Yep 10mm...But,bolt doen't come through pcm plug sight guard....

Turbov6Bryan

The bolt is held in the adapter. Now pull on it and there's the pins for the PCM

The PCM is under the dash, why are you pulling the main harness off the PCM?

I got that...I'm looking for the voltage wire (y/bk) to the pcm...I believe that wire is broken in the harness that goes across the front of the car...

Trying to isolate that wire....Can't see it in the bundle coming from PCM...I tested it from the inside of that plug and no voltage....I want to apply voltage to that wire...The sight guard is blocking my view....
If I can't get to it at the pcm,I'have to take the bumper off and get to it from there....That's why...

Spectragod
04-13-2016, 04:37 AM
You can cut the tape on the wire loom (where the loom is split), then pull the loom off the harness to access the wire. It will still be tight, as there is not a lot of slack in the harness.

Just remember to keep the magic smoke collector close at hand. This way if you accidentally let the magic smoke out of the PCM you'll at least be able to collect it all. Of course, the hard part will be then getting the magic smoke back into the PCM but I think fastblkmerc offers a tutorial on that.

Wire harness can get pinched near the drivers side headlight.

ALL is well that ends well...

And we all understand the frustration of the unknown mystery car wont start issue. Funny as it seems almost better to have that starts and runs poorly than one that stops and then runs not at all (even though this isn't true).

When my start/brake/safety sensor and or the fuse both went bad at/around the same time -- I was "red hot pissed off" about it for a few weeks, until one morning I read through the threads and the advice given (three times unemotionally) over a cup of coffee, and elected to simply fix both issues at same time. $18.00 fuse, $22 part, 1 hour of getting up and down below the steering wheel and car started right up!

Thanks then to all the helped back then -- and thanks now for all the help above!

And what is this about the magic smoke? :)
