With little to no air flow, black painted intercoolers radiate heat far better than unpainted aluminum.

Black "painted" no. A "Black Body Radiator" is a real concept. Black paint tends to be more of an insultor.

So one would think. Watch the video and find painting black has negligible impact with significant radiated heat gains.

My opinion, not myth busted

Adding paint to the intercooler does not increase thermal efficiency

Real world results would be ait sensors pre and aft on a car running, logging every scenario with 1 intercooler not painted, then painted

Or just use E85 and ditch the intercooler

The black painted intercooler showed a significant radiated heat advantage. Enough so, I will be ordering intercooler painted black.

I painted my ProCharger one black back in 2005 and within a month removed it and stripped the paint.........NO BUENO!!:mad2::shake:

It's just that black intercoolers tend to be larger.....:D

I stand corrected. Now I know why I got a C in thermodynamics. :o

I forgot to paint my frozen boost intercooler black. How much am I losing/gaining? ;)
