The chain tensioners are notorious for this, exactly as you described it
I know it sounds horrible, but don't worry about it. If your worried about it put in a new timing chain kit

Motorcraft oil filter (correct pressure relief valve) and a bottle of good ol' Stay-Together-Please oil treatment (STP) and your good to go-----maybe----(can't hurt.)

Motorcraft FL8s0S oil filter.
Personally I'd stay away from an additional additives.

I used to feel the same way about all additives and still do about most. They are pretty much worthless and some are even harmful. Two I'm 100% sold on are (1) Techron-fuel system cleaner and (2) STP oil treatment.
I've seen what both of these can accomplish over and over again. My wife's new car has an oil filter that has the threads pointing down. There is no way to pre-fill this thing, so it always has a dry start up after an oil change. With the STP there is no initial rattle after an oil change which keeps my ears from cringing in agony.
An automobile manufacturer engineer was able to convince me on three things many years ago. One was correct fuel octane for application (regular is much better on most production cars because of burn ratios, etc.,) STP oil treatment and Hilco-Lube.
I told this story in another thread, but back when I had more brawn than money, I bet a friend I could take an old, wore out, locked up from sitting out in the rain, main bearings so loose that they were knocking, Ford 351M engine and put it in an old Ford station wagon I had with no motor. You could grab the front crank pulley and actually move the crank up and down it was so worn out.
Broke the rusted rings loose with Hilco-Lube (fantastic stuff)---that took 2 weeks to finally get a full revolution, changed the oil and filter and put in 3 bottles of STP oil treatment. That thing smoked out the neighborhood when I got it cranked up. After getting to operating temperature, I changed the oil and filter again and put in straight 30w with 2 bottles of STP. It quit smoking and I drove the crap out of that old car (73 LTD station wagon) for 3 years. The guy I sold it to drove it for several more.
One other related story of interest is my Silverado always had noisey lifters when it became time to change the oil. With STP, I never hear that anymore.
Good stuff---trust me.

I would use EXTREME CAUTION putting STP in a FORD "Mod Motor"!!:shake:

I've been using it in my 200,000 mile marauder for the past 10,000 miles, and my turbo buicks for over 15 years
Even use it on my dads 97 Camry with 330,000 miles, I've never had an issue.

In cool weather these motors make 100 PSI with 5W20 oil alone....I'm surprised you haven't blown a filter off!!
