I bought 2 modded FPDM's from Racer X. I never want to get stranded again while the POS cools down.

I had RacerX upgrade mine also and that is the problem, not with the upgraded FPDM but every time I start mine I get a CEL that throws a code related to the fuel pressure. I can't get my car through state inspection because of the CEL eventhough it's not emission related. MartyO sent me a new tune with a table or tables adjusted for a GT40 FPDM, but I can't get my PC(s) to recognize the SCT Xcalibrator2, so I can't upload a new tune.

Do you have windows 10?

No, Windows 7 64-bit.

I think the problems is the SCT Excalibrator 2 isn't supported. I see it in device manager and it's "working OK" but Liveload doesn't see. it.

How long did you run the car for with it like that? The tune Marty is trying to get you to load with the GT40 FP table has a good starting point so that it isn't too far out of range, but, over time it does learn and rewrite the table for more accurate values. Can you try driving it around more to rewrite the table?

Btw, I do have a dozen un modified FPDMs at any given time.

Oh okay because I had 7 but it updated to 10. I had the same issue but SCT sorted it out remotely.

I have an SCT II and it works fine on Vista on my PC and Windows 8 on my laptop. Windows 7 should work too.

Windows device manager sees the tuner. The SCT software doesn't see it, keeps asking me to connect the tuner.

Device Manger says "Jungo - SCT Driver V10.11"

I don't know the answer.....

I do know that I had 2 fuel delivery hiccups on the way home from the dentist today. I'm thinking of changing my fuel pump from the Aeromotive 340 back to the Walbro GT40 pump that I saved after the swap. Then I will turn back on my Boost-a-Pump that I left installed, but turned off. Not sure if that is the answer or not. Other than that the the car runs flawlessly. The Musclemerc fuel filter is fresh. The RacerX modded FPDM should be ok. Water in gas? Who knows.

Which LiveLink do you have installed? After 4, I believe the USB driver was built into Livelink. With the SCT unplugged, open up Device Mangler in Windows, plug the SCT tuner in and let me know what pops up if anything and if there's an exclamation mark next to it.

I need to upgrade my FPDM also. Sounds like some PCM tuning must be done to accommodate a larger pump and the FPDM? I would guess it is the bigger pump that would call for the retune, doesn't the FPDM just pulse width modulate commanded by the PCM? The mods are to supply more current without overheating or failing?

Anyway, I would like to understand this more and get a high-current FPDM in anticipation of more fuel pump and motor. Is there a consensus on the Aeromotive 340LPH PN 11142? Flow vs pressure looks good (http://realstreetperformance.com/Fuel-Pump-Comparison-Test.html).

One of the reasons for a tune to address fuel pump parameters is to prevent/reduce pressure spikes. Too much pressure gives you a blown FRPS. Another reason to leave the pump pressure relief valve in place.

I'm glad you posted this info. Is this something to look into with my centri and engine build?
