I have a passenger side rear floor that gets soaking wet after some hard rainstorms. I started tracing it and came up with this area in the following video here:

I dumped some water onto the cowl area and came up with this leak. Now, this is obviously on the firewall, but what is the piece and how would you go about sealing it? My guess is someone replaced the HVAC unit and didn't do a good job sealing it with rtv. Let me know your thoughts.

This is pulled from a crown Victoria site, but my gut is that this is the issue. Any others have experience here?

Thanks to this thread I'm reasonably certain I have found my leak.

The attached pictures document exactly where this dude's leak was and how he fixed it. I will be doing the same.

Did you actually find the same leak or are you taking a shot in the dark....... again?

"I dumped some water onto the cowl area and came up with this leak." What about this screams shot in the dark?

I posted a video. Of the leak. Then I found an article of the exact same thing. The only thing I didn't do is pull the inner fender and put sealant where the other thread did.
Edit: the reason why I keep posting links to other sites is to consolidate for dudes who may have the same issue and go searching in the future. I know how frustrating it is to find a thread with an issue and never find a resolution.

Lame. Well the pictures I posted with the hand all come from that link. It just goes on to describe the fix which includes putting putty or RTV around the rubber drain flap because the foam gasket deteriorates and causes this issue.

Popped the inner fender off just enough to get to it, but I put a nice hefty serving of black rtv around the HVAC drain. It's curing now, will get back when it rains tomorrow

The leak is confirmed fixed from doing what I mentioned in the pictures. It rained and no leak was seen. I dumped more water all over the car and watched for a leak as well. Nothing.
