For those of you running wider than normal wheels, can you help me determine offset? I've been wanting different wheels since I got the car, and a lot of choices have went down in flames due to offset.

I have narrowed it down to two wheels. The easiest choice is BBS. They make two versions of an 18 x 8 wheel with 50mm offset I like. It's perfect, and I'm leaning towards them very strong.

However there is one wheel I like better. Much better. The HRE C100.

Though they are more expensive, these are a two piece wheel, and can be made to any offset. Now, what offset would be needed for a 9 inch wheel to fit up front, and a 10 inch wheel to fit out back?

I saw these the other day and fell in love. Look at them on a black car... Can you imagine these on a Marauder? :bows::bows:

Could someone Photoshop these onto a Marauder?

It may cost me if I see them on one, but I want to know if I should go crazy and get the BBS wheels, or go completely off the deep end and go with the HRE wheels.

Keep the stock wheels........ your MM will thank you for that.

I tried to order a set of 3 piece HRE's, besides the $4500 price, they pretty much told me that since it was a 1 off, I would have to wait for them to make time to build them. Said time frame was stated to be 3 months to a year, when ever they got to my project....they can EABOD's.

A 9" wheel can get away with a 50mm offset , the 10" wheel will need a 45mm offset.

I read 4 to 6 weeks to build them one they are paid in full.

Yep, me too, but they told me at that time, it would be 3 months to a year for a "special" order. I took a pass, had mine widened and PVD coated.

All that money in new wheels and you aren't upping the tire size? Check my sig for widths and offsets that fit well without rubbing. You always want 50mm in the front or you're changing the scrub radius. The rear you have some leeway.

If I get the HRE Wheels they will be 19x9 in front and 19x10 out back.

Check tire availability, that is probably the most important consideration. I have never looked for 19" tires so have no idea. You want to make sure you have options for 5% stagger.

Also check spoke clearance for a real big brake kit. You may say you don't care today, but if you keep this car and upgrade you'll eventually hate the stock brakes if you don't already. You need to be able to fit at least the TCE Aero6 caliper with 14" X 1.25" rotor. That is the first step in size that doesn't fit the stock wheels, but actually lasts for a long time.

If you don't allow for big brakes under those wheels you'll live to regret it.

^^^completely agree^^^, I wouldn't buy a 19" wheel, those are the bastard child for tire manufacturers, limited availability and high price.

Go 20" or stay at 18", 19" is not an upgrade, because it really ties your hands behind your back.

100% truth! I wouldn't buy any odd size wheel, and tire combo.

I agree..try finding a 16.5 tire size for my F350 and Weld Racing Rims..obsolete b y all pretty much except Interco tire and they want like $360 per tire

Well, I'd never run a 16.5 for sure. They can't keep the bead on when you air down.

My truck doesn't go offroad..that was the size in 1995., there was no larger, Weld racing rims were $230 each back then when a regular aftermarket rim was like $80 and 35" tire was $159...

This was back in 2006..still looks the same pretty much, 38,000 miles. no winters, paint is a slightly weathered looking, but a good buff would bring it back..tires are 16-17 years old and have dry rot cracks in inner sidewall.

I thought that might be the case . . . Look ahead, don't paint yourself into a corner with tires or brakes. You only want to buy wheels once.
