I picked up a new to me 04 DTR with 44K on the dial. The grill is the same color as the car. I was under the impression the "inside" of it should be black and the surround would be the same color as the car. I've looked at many pictures and have seen it both ways.

The car is super clean and if it's been repainted someone did a damn good job because I can't find a tape line anywhere on the inside of the hood or trunk, door jambs ect....

Factory would've been red, but I think the spokes look good blacked out.

The only black center marauder grilles were silver birch

The only difference is the black's grilles were glossy just like the car. The SB's grille center is more of a matte or semi-gloss black (not shiny, not flat). Almost like the black primer color, maybe that's just what it is?

It's more of a charcoal black. When we had ours painted the Ford auto shop guy said he couldn't find a color code for the SB dark grille color. He used the old grille to match as close as he could.

I'd like to see a DTR with the center of the grill painted black, the contrast may be good.

I think it looks good black with the badge, may just be the lighting on the badge less.

Badge less one bad angle plus I had chrome/aluminum mesh grill behind it at the time.

Steve Babcock once said that the reason for making the grille black on the SB is because it would look like a raccoon if it was body colour.

Hi, Charlie, Bob and everyone. I've been around, just not able to rip and run around like I use to, but I think of you often and the good times.
