While the quick answer to your question is probably YES, though I imagine the tone would be slight unless you went with some sort of weird trumpet style. Most members continue to use the factory style Meg's tips. I can't recall listening to a stock MM whose owner ONLY changed the 3 1/2" OEM resonated to 4" resonated. This change (if ever done) would most likely be done for the visual rather than acoustic. Usually the mufflers and cat delete are where the big acoustic change happens. There is a difference in sound though between the resonated and non-resonated Megs tips. Only other tips I know that are used are those that come with the StainlessWorks system. Never heard of anyone just changing out the Megs tips for SW tips only though.

Reason why I was asking that is because a few wks ago I got rear-ended and messed up the tips so they replaced them with idk and for some reason it doesn't sound as loud as before, I have aero turbine and rear cat deleted...

Is it possible the damage from the accident bent something further upstream and is causing a choke?

Not sure if they're resonated or not don't know how that looks either lol.... and no I don't think it's the seat of the pant feelings it almost sounds like a small truck or something... I was looking at the MagnaFlow 22 inch ones...

Resonated ones have a perforated (small holes) liner on the inside of the tip....look inside the tip with a flashlight.

Most people change from the stock resonated ones to NON-resonated ones. They don't make the exhaust any louder, just more so fine tune the exhaust note that's already there.

Like JR said, look inside with a flash light, that is an easy way to tell if it's resonated.

Stock tips are made by Meg's, ensure your's are from Meg's.

4" Meg's resonated tip vs 3.5" Meg's non-resonated tip (you can see the perforated liner inside the 4" tip)

Check the ENTIRE exhaust. If it's hit from the rear it CAN shove it all forward and absorb in places where bends are (above the axle). Insurance companies are gargantuan pricks and will cut corners to save dollars at YOUR expense.

Megs 3.5 resonated tips do not have the mesh like that. They have sound absorbing material from just inside the connection of tailpipe to about 10 inches long. It is not perforated, it is more like a tube if exhaust gasket material with a thru hole . Have a pic at home
